Subject: Ensuring access and excellent care in the long term care setting for seniors
Senior citizens are the epitome of knowledge and experience, and thus, the healthcare
sector via physicians, nurses, health specialists, and other non-health workers has a professional
and ethical obligation to provide sufficient care to them. Among the strategies needed for seniors
to get quality long-term care include developing accountability in the physicians, empowering
the nurses through education, improving the working conditions of the health specialists, and
using the rights of the seniors to reinforce the non- health workers' roles. These strategies are
critical to understanding the issue at hand and ensuring commitment and dedication in provision
of elderly care. The facility’s management is dedicated to disseminating knowledge to all parties
involved in this health care as follows.
For the physicians, emphasis will be placed on encouraging and promoting accountability
in every care provision endeavor owing to the fragility of senior citizens’ state of health.
Developing trust is geared towards improving the quality of care delivered because it will require
that the physicians comply with the standards of acceptable performance. The physicians is
obligated to respect patient confidentiality, comply with the OSHA safety manual, keep proper
time records, comply with HIPAA and abide with the standard employee regulations. Failure to
serve patients with utmost kindness will attract disciplinary warnings that will be issued via
writing. The disciplinary warnings will have measurable expectations with plans that will

monitor the ongoing performance of the physicians in order to hold them accountable for
improvement.
Nurses, on the other hand, will be introduced to the issue through structured education
and development. A structured training and development program will be established to ensure
the nurses acquire consistent experience and background knowledge in ensuring access and
excellent care in the long-term care setting for seniors. Training will be offered in the areas of
administrative tasks, patient safety, nutrition, transportation service, and emergency response in a
bid to guarantee that these caregivers meet the expectations of the patients. Training and
development will further ensure that nurses understanding their responsibilities and integrate
innovation and creative to formulate more effective care provision strategies.
Unproductive healthcare specialists are ill equipped to enhance accessibility and provide
excellent long-term care for the seniors, which underlines the dedication of the facility in
pursuing this agenda. The facility will strive to create a warm working environment as an effort
to increase productivity of specialists through such activities as health specialist involvement,
information sharing, performance-based pay, and recruitment agreements. The right resources
will also be put in the hands of the specialists in order to succeed in this regard. However, this
effort calls for dedication from these specialists failure to which it is bound to fail.
Lastly, the facility will offer resident’s rights to non- health workers that drive the day in
operations of the nursing home. This will ensure the non-health workers allow the residents to
enjoy their rights while they assist them in their daily chores. The rights entitled to the seniors
include right to decide on their care plan, right to manage their finances, right to privacy, right to
clean and safe environment, and right to engage in activities in and out of the facility. As such, a
non-health worker will not have authority to impose Medicare or Medicaid as the care plan for

an unwilling senior citizen. The non-health worker will not be able to interfere with the senior’s
finances, privacy, living conditions, and their chance to engage in activities in and out of the
facility because, by so doing, he or she will be held accountable for violation of human rights.
