America’s Impact on the World’s Politics and Commerce
The emergence of the United States as a superpower began in the early 20

century.
Notably, it has been influential in regional and international politics as well as trade. These
developments began after the 1898 War when the U.S. started intervening in global affairs
through military actions and foreign policies. As such, its focus on foreign relations is a
contributory factor in the shaping of American and world history.
Some influential leaders shaped the United States’ diplomatic stance and its influence on
global politics. One of them is President Roosevelt, who strengthened the nation’s military
power to maintain world order. Notably, this had a positive impact on the world’s politics since
America became a mediator among nations. At the same time, the strategy has protected its
interests in the world. For example, Roosevelt intervened in a border dispute between Canada
and Alaska in 1902 by sending the military. The strategy mitigated the outbreak of the possible
war.

Famously know as the big-stick diplomacy, it involved working with other nations peacefully but
making them aware of America’s military power. Consequently, the U.S. has held peaceful trade
negotiations with several countries. For example, the amendment of the Monroe Doctrine
allowed it to intervene if Latin American countries defaulted on their debt to Europe. This
instance and several others are crucial to the success of global trade.

commerce is a significant milestone in the history of America and the world. The major areas of
achievements include its numerous involvements in international politics using military power as
