The second core strategy devised by different cities across the world is, promoting green energy.
Globally, more than forty percent of all emissions originate from energy production. Am aware
that my city, Osaka, is much dependent on hydroelectric and thermal electric energies which
result in climate change. Therefore, I would wish to make an appeal to the leadership of the city
to opt for efficient energies got from oceanic, solar, geothermal and wind sources. Moreover,
adopt other projects that acclimate to a habitation`s distinctive characteristics. It is through this
our city and the country of Japan as a whole would experience an enhanced greener climate.
Another strategy adopted by cities managements all over the world is through combating short-
lived climate pollutants. One of the most infamous greenhouse gas is Carbon (IV) Oxide. In
addition, it rests in the atmosphere for a couple of years. Short-lived pollutants such as ozone,
methane, black carbon and the hydrofluorocarbons from refrigerants, are responsible for more
than 30 percent of the emissions that result in global warming. These pollutants are common in
some areas across my city. Moreover, the Osaka city management will have to put in action
policies that will enable them to control these effects and speed up the combat against climate
change within the short term.
Many cities across the world have also come up with another green strategy of supporting small
agricultural producers. The meat industry results to more than 15 percent of greenhouse gas
emissions, surpassing the ones in the transportation sector. Moreover, it is a major source of
water use and pollution all over the world. Most of the agricultural production is for animal
feeding. The rate of deforestation in some areas across our city has been accelerated over the past
years, due to land expansion for livestock and the produce to feed them. Therefore, the
government should support local producers who unlike the large producers, put in place viable
practices, benefit nearby communities, care about the restoration of land, and make the crops and
