ISO 9000 standards are a set of international standards for quality management and
assurance. The ISO 9000 series standards perform a wide variety of practices that aid the
companies in achieving greater success. It offers flexible means of attaining the required standards
to organizations. These kinds of standards are universal hence can be used by any manufacturing
company. Since 1SO 9000 standards were developed to improve the efficiency of production in
companies, it aids the companies in so many ways; Firstly, ISO 9000 series standards ensures
quality production (Hoyle, 2017). This is achieved through ensuring the provision of basic
disciplines, guidelines, procedures and guidelines that ensure the products and services produced
by that specific company lead to customer satisfaction. To ensure quality production, ISO 9000
assists the manufacturers in carrying out planning, identification, and implementation so as to
achieve the projected standards. In this case, it allows the employees of the organization and staffs
to carry out their practices efficiently while also sensitizing them on the need for quality products
as well as motivating them to ensure their satisfaction in doing the job. This also contributes to
quality production in that particular organization (Hoyle, 2017). To improve on quality, the quality
standard assurance ensures the provision of information about the quality concerns of a specific
product or service. This information serves as a guideline for the company towards achieving the
requirements or targets put across for achieving quality production.
Secondly, ISO 9000 quality standards help in improvement of management control in
particular organizations. The system in this case is always complex hence need much
documentation and assessment. To aid the management to achieve better results, the quality
assurance performs the role of ensuring that the cost of production is reduced through the efficient
use of resources, time and personnel. In this case, the management of the manufacturing companies
gain directions and guidance through the use of ISO 9000 standards (Yeung, 2018). The quality
standards also help the management through ensuring that there is a reduction in the liability risks
of products. This is ensured through the production of quality goods and services that attract
customers. This limit the chances of liability risk in the produced products. To improve on the
management too, the ISO 9000 standards also promote good leadership in the organization which
fosters unity (Yeung, 2018). The good leadership provided in this case helps in creating motivation
to those who are working on particular projects. Moreover, ISO 9000 standards provide an
excellent framework for making decisions. This is achieved through aiding in analyzing and
interpretation of data.
Besides, through championing for quality production in the manufacturing organizations,
ISO 9000 standards promote the marketability of the products and services produced. The
companies who are ISO certified have enough proof that the products and services they produce
are of high quality. This ensures that the customers have developed affection for the services and
goods produced thus they tend to repeat themselves. All the practices performed by quality
assurance aid the companies in making commanding profits and gaining stability which boost the
economies of the respective countries. ISO 9000 standards, in this case, provide the required
environment for quality and healthy production in the respective organizations. This helps in
reducing wastages and losses thus ensuring high productivity and huge revenue generation
(Corbett, 2015). This helps the respective country towards attaining economic development as a
lot of revenues will be generated, the unemployment rate will be reduced thus dependency ratio
minimized as well as boosting the gross domestic product of that particular country.
ISO 9000 CERTIFICATION 3
ISO 9000 standards can trace its origin from the United Kingdom standards BS 5750 which
focused on the procedures of conformance. A 1994 version put its emphasis on quality assurance
while the version of 2000 came up with the process management concept to the forefront. Since
the introduction of ISO 9000 standards in 1987, a lot of researches has been done on its success,
how it has impacted several organization as well transforming the economies of different countries.
Based on the latest research, ISO 9000 certification stands as one of the most commonly used and
recognized standards in the world. Presently, it provides the intended guidelines for increasing the
efficiency of the business and customer satisfaction. The approach used in ISO 9000 which is
process-oriented ensures its applicability in service organizations too. ISO 9000 requires a
company to look at the big picture regarding how the processes are capable of interacting, whether
the processes can be integrated with one another and also the essential aspects of services and
products (Sohal & Young, 2015). After the process-oriented approach, several audits are made
which are aimed at checking the effectiveness of management system quality. The first party audit
is usually an internal audit, the second party audit gives an authority to the consumers to carry on
the evaluation of the organizational performance and the 3rd party audit involves the certification
body going to the organization to carry on evaluations.ISO 9000 certification has been very
successful as so many companies in the whole world are using this system of quality assurance
ISO 9000 standards are essential for the success of many companies today. Many
companies are known to offer different varieties of products, but the success is only felt by those
who produce the best products and services. ISO 9000 provides means by which an organization
can be able to trace the root of the problem and act to alleviate it (Heras-saizarbitoria & Boiral,
2015). Through enhancement of efficiencies, manufacturing organizations are capable of
maximizing profits. Implementation of ISO 9000 standards by a broad range of companies leads
to the creation of a supply chain with integrity. All companies using ISO 9000 standards boast
their popularity internationally as their reliability is ensured. Customers prefer quality products
hence the growing recognition of ISO 9000 standards among the consumers based on the research
promotes the products of those organizations. The ISO standards have also assisted in the
management control where quality decisions of organizations are made. Since the best results can
only be obtained out of managing the resources and activities together, quality management has
ensured effective resource use, time and personnel. This has been able to allow the management
to focus on the more important goals that are of a big picture.
Upon the introduction of ISO 9000 standards in many countries, the research shows that
the standards have had a lot of implications in many countries' economies. The diffusion of these
standards has been enabled word-wide thus leading to many of the reputable
companies/organizations using it (Castka & Corbett, 2015). This has led to the generation of
quality goods in the market. The production of quality goods throughout the world has boosted
trade between many of the countries with ISO certified organizations. This is because the products
produced in these countries have got no questionable quality. Therefore, it has helped in enlarging
the international markets of different countries which have also boosted their production capacity
(Castka, Projogo, Sohal & Young, 2015). Many countries have been earning a lot of foreign
exchange which has assisted in boosting their economies. These kinds of countries have also been
generating a lot of revenues from these exchanges, increasing their intensity of production which
has also boosted the gross domestic product of those countries as well as the creation of
employment opportunities to their citizens. In this case, many economies have experienced a
commanding growth since the introduction of ISO 9000 certification standards. Due to

development of trade among these countries, the countries have been able to develop their own
infrastructures creating efficiency in all operations thus ensuring continuity in development.
