resounding. Technology has been the basis of advancement in a bid to ensure that

human life becomes more conducive through availing the most convenient resources

to use. Various platforms show how technology has been one of the major factors

prompting the change in the current society as a whole (Griffy-Brown). Technology is

applicable in almost every aspect which modern human being engages. Technology

has brought about both positive and negative precepts in the society. Among the

various issues that are necessary for purposes of addressing technology dependence

are; the way in which it has brought change in the health sector and the extent in

which the medical practitioner apply technology in addressing the different medical

issues (Griffy-Brown).

Accessing information, that is crucial in the medical sector, has been made

accessible through the use of technology and it is evident that in case there is the

system failure, there are lots of mishaps that will accrue in the medical arena as far as

information storage and access are concerned. Also, there is a need to have a long

lasting solution to the issues in which dependence on technology has affected the way

in which children behave and use their time. Engrossment on screen seems to be

taking lots of time as a source of enjoyment and interaction in modern civilization.

Displays have taken a toll on the children who have shown laxity and laziness in their

activities. Another issue that is worth addressing is the moral aspect that has

culminated as a result of technology. The ethical dimension of information usage and

application is one issue that needs deliberation regarding the moral element. In

another stance, technology has been the driving force behind modern research and

sharing of scholarly information and statistical data. Therefore it is evident that

technology is the backbone of the availability of the different academic details used.

Taking a look at how technology had been a significant transformation on the

health sector, it is worth looking at the computerization of the medical fraternity. The

use of computerized provider order entry (CPOE) and other systems in clinical

information has been the primary player in changing the medical field concerning the

reduction of medical errors, promotion of standardization and the improvement of

patient quality care. Over-dependence of the technology has been one of the leading

aspects that is long-lasting about the adverse consequence that the system promotes

though unintended.

The system downtime is the main issue that can cause chaos in the instance that no

immediate and sufficient backup is in place. Chaos will emanate in the organization if

there is the insufficiency of hardware to support the needs of the workers or in the

instance that the system is slow and causes ineffective completion of

tasks. The aspect of relying on the technological point in the medical field is also a

forum in which there is the creation of false expectation concerning the accuracy and

processing of the data in question. Also, there is an aspect that some clinical

practitioners are unable to perform their tasks efficiently without the use of the

computerized system.

There is a notion of being unable to abstain from a particular thing that can result

in impairment of the control of behavior or cravings. The effect of which is issues

with regards to interpersonal relationships and practices. The result of taking away

this behavioral aspect is experiencing "withdrawal symptoms when the addiction is

taken away”(Chait, n.p.). With regards to the traverse positive changes that electronic

devices have brought about to the aspect of spending extra time. The use of media and

screens is the way in which students are desperate and find it hard to be creative and

avoid the tedious situation. Compulsive behavior is an aspect in which parents have

been witnessing whenever they take away a device from a child, and other issues like

video gaming and internet bring about the emotional shutdown, lack of concentration

and the withdrawal symptoms.

Looking at the family aspect in which every society built its base, it is worth

noting the fact that making a resounding decision is necessary particularly regarding

the growth and well-being of every child and the growth and control of screen

addiction. It is evident that technological dependence has come in the form of

entertainment and the more an individual spends time glued on the screen, the more

he/she will be likely to develop am the aspect of irritation if the technology is not

available at a given point in time. The issue that is of notable importance is that the

development of the child must involve development precepts like real life friendship,

physical activity, familial ties, art, and even boarding games.

With today's aspect of dependency on technology to fulfill essential tasks, is

worth noting the fact that it is not necessarily supposed to be about abstinence but it

should preferably be about balance. Screen time is not only valuable and enjoyable

but also the advancement in the use of technology for working and schooling makes it

fundamentally necessary for the child to acquaint them with technology, but it should

be moderately.

If one was to look at the redefinition of technology in the aspect of its usage in

scholarly confines, then a point to note is that the digital element has brought about

changes concerning scholarship. Digital tools have brought about immense change in

privacy, digital preservation, copyright issues and tenure and promotion process.

Digital aspects have brought about extensive research practices that affect various

leading attributable sphere to the changing research practices in higher education. The

extensive nature of technology across diverse cultures culminates to the

questionability o the usage. There is an emerging controversy that the advent of the

open school is set to blur the nature of boundaries that exist between social contexts

The academic landscape has been undergone significant enhancement with the

advent of technology. Researchers are in a position to research by using the available

tools to access the relevant information. Web services and social technology has

proven to be the avenues that are mostly put to use in conducting academic research.

Therefore it is worth noting that the nature of dependence which technology has

brought in this sense is of positive attributes (Esposito, n.p.). Researchers now rely

entirely on technology to highlight international perceptions, emerging issues in

real-world academia issues.

The ubiquitous nature of information technology receives appreciation in the

lives of people globally. With the growing platform of technology, it is worth

considering the essence of information technology. Information technology

synthesizes, records, communicates, and organize information for a majority of

people globally. The right situation revolves around the control, production, and

access of necessaries in life. Economic justice and morality are some of the essential

and communication, the level of frequency in which teens use the platform is

the livelihood of the student, the positive side is that students can attend to their

homework and do other leisure activities like play games and do their shopping

(Wicks and Boutilier, n.p.). Some scholars have argued that technological addiction

has prompted the escalation of narcissistic and superficial relationship. Social media

is seen to be an assimilation of the new era means of communication just like

telephones and emails were (Wicks and Boutilier, n.p.). It is worth also taking into

consideration the fact that there were existing problems ways before the advent of

social media and it is only through productive usage of the platform if there is a

reduction of incessant social competition. Communication with classmates or

schoolmates through groups and also family members is one benefit on social media.

In the student’s world, it is worth noting that social media is the platform that spurs

debates and provides news. Also, there is the inspiration of marginalized voices and

prompt dialogues which is never ending unlike other traditional media.

Despite the condemnation of social media on the grounds of procrastination and

anti-social precepts, there is the room which it can be put to use to improve lives

Therefore, it is worth noting that, technology has brought about many changes

in the ways of life in modern society. Issues like communication, socializing, the

performance of social tasks, ethical observation, education, medicine, economic

activities, and security are of significant concern with regards to technology in

modern society. It is worth noting the fact that there seems to be a lot of positive

attributes of technology dependence from the negative aspects that culminates through

the usage of technology. However, the element of addiction is evident through the

traverse avenues in which technology is heavily relied upon to perform given tasks.
