Assembly Line Workers
Currently, despite the lean concept being old fashioned, it has become a paradigm for
some manufacturing and service operations by enhancing its fundamental principles of flow,
value, pull, and minimizing cost. The involved employees create a competitive advantage if the
company can appropriate the savings of productivity it creates and also ensure that the former
understand the lean production well. Making the employees incriminated in its implementation
may be able to support the justifiable competitive advantage resulting from the creation of
strategic resources (Shimizu, 2004). This, in turn, leads to the effectiveness of the company’s
production and the competence of its workers. It is quite clear that achieving higher levels of
output with fewer resources input is a significant concern of making assembly line workers work
by the lean production within its unit analysis apart from broader issues of data comparability.
According to empirical investigations, it has been found thatthe company involving
employees in applying the lean production has encountered the positive overall financial
performance. Lowering relative costs must lead tothe general company productivity determined
by the profitability of the market share as compared to foreign competitors. It is of the specific
interest since present-day research of the relationship between the lean production and the
profitability established that its high-level users exhibit stringer volatility to profits when they
become engaged as assembly line workers (Shimizu, 2004). Besides, engrossing workers in lean
production processes allows the organization to learn and, therefore, create new resources, which
also enables employees to be more creative in their work.
Lean production ensures perfection delivered by workers through continuous
improvement. The successful application of the lean concept by firms leads to less engagement

in innovative activities. The only focus by companies is to progressively improve existing
processes and employees.
