ASTRONOMY 2
Astronomy: Hubble
The picture is a region of the sky that contains approximately 1000 galaxies. After
thorough analysis, scientists concluded that they had seen back to the youngest universe.
Additionally, the image revealed some of the earliest galaxies to emerge from the dark ages. It is
of the essence to recognize the earliest formation occurred when the first stars reheated the
Universe, which was cold, shortly after the Bing Bang. Since the picture was taken using an
advanced camera for surveys, it showed the farthest galaxies, which can be viewed in visible
light. In essence, light stretches with respect to the distance of an object from us considering that
the universe expands (Ferguson, Dickinson, & Williams, 2000). As a result, light waves from
very distant objects appear redder than shorter wavelengths; an aspect referred to as redshift.
According to experts, galaxies are approximately 5 to 10 billion light-years away from us.
From my perspective, it is astonishing what technology can accomplish considering the
beginning of astronomy. It is possible to see about 3000 galaxies in a single image, some of
which are very distant beyond the stars of our Milky Way. Moreover, the far that there is a
continuous advancement in this field, there is so much more to be discovered in the galaxies. For
instance, in the future, people might be able to view a single galaxy with all its stars. After
showing the short flythrough to another people, they were astonished by the video. Essentially,
there is a significant development in the field of astronomy. A single capture can reveal so many
galaxies despite the fact that there are billions of light-years away from us (Madau et al., 2006).
However, the other individual agrees that there is still a lot that can be discovered in the galaxies
in efforts to understand how the Universe evolved over time from the past to we see today.
