The position I came across from the internet search was a listing for a Part 121 and/or
135 jobs. The description of this position is for a quality control inspector. The position involves
the inspection of aircraft and its components to certify the quality of products in alignment with
the requirements of the Airlift CAMP. Besides, this inspection ensures that all elements are of
necessary quality based on engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and additional approved
information. Significantly, the quality control inspectors also conduct Receiving Inspection
processes on all the components of an aircraft based on the procedures in the Airlift General
Maintenance Manual. Furthermore, the quality control inspector also conducts safety, training
and certification requirements monitoring. The inspector also examines the records and forms of
aircraft maintenance (Patankar & Taylor, 2017).
The position and the job description aligns with the required positions in the Advisory
Circular in the following ways. In the Advisory Circular, Chapter 4 outlines the necessary
positions and the responsibilities of each personnel during operations under the Part 135 and 121.
According to the AC 120-16F, the quality control inspector commands adequate qualifications
and expertise in the maintenance domain. Similarly, the inspector assumes the responsibility of
promoting quality maintenance on aircrafts. Additionally, the AC 120-16F also holds that the
quality control inspector can consult with the FAA to deviate from the numbers and types of
required part 121 or 135 roles (FAA, 2012). However, there is no significant difference between
the job description and the position in the Advisory Circular.
