Introduction
Drake is among most popular Canadian songwriter, rapper, and singer who manifested
himself as among the best singers in recent times. Drake initially was an actor in the country’s
TV series 'Degrassi where his career emerged, and with time, he proved that he was best
suited for the music, and therefore, he engaged to music since it was his passion from his
childhood. He set off his musical move with mix-tapes which were self-released. This paper
explains in details the Biography of Drake.
Drake’s Childhood and Early Life
Aubrey Drake Graham was born on 24th October 1986, to Dennis Graham and Sandi
Graham in Toronto, Canada. His father took part in drummer for legendary musician while his
mother worked as a florist and an English teacher. Drake has unique religious and racial
backgrounds since he is a son of a Canadian mother and an African-American father. According
to Drake, he is more driven by black culture whereas his mother being Jewish is said to be a cool
twist to his culture.
While Aubrey Drake was a young child, his parents divorced, and he was brought up by
his Canadian mother, although in most cases he also used to spend time with his father who

returned to complete his diploma in 2012 after he witnessed challenges in his early life. For

hits like Trey, so like, Successful, Best I Ever Had, and featuring Lil Wayne Songs, and this enabled
him to succeed in a commercial (Foxx 162). Drake in a short while, he produced his debut EP
using the same name which was due to the success of the mix-tape. The release was number 6 on
the Billboard 200.

of June 2010, drake’s hit of Debut studio album known as Thank Me Later was
released. This album was said to have taken two years under production, and it featured artists like
Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, and Lil Wayne (Foxx 162). Similarly, Find Your Love, which was a
single hit, reached up to top-10 on the Billboard Hot 100. On 15

November 2011, Drake released
Take Care, his second studio album. The singles contained in this album were Take Care, featuring
Rihanna, and Make Me Proud, featuring Nicki Minaj. The album enabled him to receive the first
Grammy Award. Nothing Was the Same his third album, which he released in 2013, he maintained
his fame, leading to practical opinions as for its predecessors (Foxx 162). This was his first studio
album released from OVO Sound, his label. The album contained seven singles, and all of them
were commercially successful.
Drake’s Best Releases that Hit
Thank Me Later, was his first studio album to be debuted number one on the Billboard 200
chart of US and this made Drake’s fame to rise. This studio album was able to receive Platinum
certification in US and Canada after it sold 1.83 million copies in the US (Foxx 162). Additionally,

Take Care, his second studio album also reached number one on the same US chart, and it managed
to sell over six hundred and thirty-one thousand copies within the one week. It becomes popular
after being debuted number one in Billboard 200 chart, to receive Certification Platinum from UK,
US, and Canada. His third studio album, Nothing Was the Same, received both commercial and
critical acclaim success (Foxx 162). Multiple magazines named the album as the Best Album of
the Year. It managed to sell over 1.78 million copies in the U.S and was given Platinum status in
UK, US, and Canada.
Rewards from His Major Works
To date, Drake has been in possession of thee Grammy prizes from thirty-five
nominations. In 2013, his album Take Care was said to be the Best Rap Album (Foxx 162).
Additionally, Hotline Bling, his song that hit in 2017, earned him two rewards.
Accumulatively, Drake has received eighty awards from three hundred and thirty
nominations.
Drake’s Relationships
Several women have been romantically linked with Drake from the entertainment industry
(Singapore 159). However, Drake is popularly associated with an on-and-off relationship with
Rihanna, the Barbadian singer (Singapore 159). Their first time to meet was back 2005 after Drake
had a crush on Rihanna after which they came together and co-worked for several times. Later,
Rihanna had a crush on Chris Brown, and this brought about their break.
In 2012, Drake and Chris Brown were involved in a fight, and this believed to be over
Rihanna. Brown released a song criticizing him and blamed him on social. Incidentally, Drake and
Brown, performed together at the 2014 ESPY Awards, whereby they reconciled after the
performance. In 2012, Ericka Lee claimed to be Drake's ex-girlfriend and reported that he used her

voice in most his songs such as Marvins Room. She decided to file a lawsuit to seek royalties and
credits. In 2013, they reached out-of-court agreement although Drake’s lawyer initially refuted the
claims.
Later in 2016, Drake proposed to the singer, Jennifer Lopez and they began dating. They
went to the extent of posting their pictures on their respective platforms. However, it is true that
Drake is interested in Rihanna and is trying his level best to get her back and this has been reported
to have affected their relationship with his new catch, Lopez (Singapore 174).
Drake’s Accomplishment
Drake has managed to release many songs with different singers like Rihanna. Also, he has
made it dominate the top position by releasing hitting raps like Thank Me Later which he released
on 15 June 2010. The album was among the most successful hits by Drake. Drake has created fame
of many singes in the country including those he featured with like team YMCMB, Kenya West,
Rihanna, and the weekend. All these achievements have made Drake a successful rapper. He has
been named to be the best rapper alive because he goes with the flow. Additionally, he has
influenced many singers in the country, and through that, he has become a country's celebrity.

Drake is a famous singer, songwriter, and a rapper. From his childhood, he had a passion
for music and his father positively influenced his career. Drake started as an actor in Canadian TV
program series where he gained fame and finally ended up joining music. As a musician, Drake
uplifted many other singers by incorporating them in his performance. The music has earned him
many rewards. Although he has been associated with broken relationships and scandal, this has
not deterred him from his work, and most of his fans have kept on promoting him. Through his
