Abstract.
This paper entirely speaks of the brain cancer, its definitions and introduction to
the disease. It also explains the different roles of the pathophysiology and how this continuous
assessment helps understand the disease better. In this paper also the symptoms of brain cancer
are defined and the causes of the disease. The different ways to diagnose this disease are
highlighted and each methods side effect also elaborated, it also distinguishes the different ways
of brain cancer treatment and their procedures. Towards the end the paper speaks more of patient
instructions an educations concerning the disease and precautions he or she should take while
under and before medication.

BRAIN CANCER.
Introduction:
Brain cancer is the abnormal growth and multiplication of brain cells inside the skull or
outside and can result in brain cancer if not controlled. It may also grow to a point of even
causing death to the victim.
The mass of the undifferentiated cells is also known as the Neoplasm in the brain. This
disease is attached to many symptoms and also signs like, headache, vomiting, somndence, and
may cause even hypertension.
Brain cancer dose not spread to other parts of the body and there are many types of brain
cancers and they are named differently basing from which types of cell they grow. The previous
researches brain cancer is very had to treat and ifs even better to prevent it than to treat it. Form
the many who have been recover of having the disease in the research conducted in 2002 in the
U.S the individuals who did not recover from the tumor outnumbered the people who regained
their original health status by approximately 4:1.
Treatment technique of brain cancer depends on various factors including, the cancer
type, size, the area of the brain attacked, and the age of the attacked individual. The treatments
may be of two types, curative or acting on the cancer and the other acting on reliving the
symptoms.
There are two different brain cancers, Benign and Malignant. They have different
symptoms and signs and also different growth characteristics.

Pathophysiology these are disorder process in the physiology which are linked with the disease
and may also mean different, continuous assessment and clinical manifestation.
Case study from a Scholarly, peer Reviewed Journal.
There are two important case study elaborated in the Journal concerning the brain
cancer disease for instance, the healthcare journal, cancer diagnosis, and the chemotherapy
journal to select but a few. The journal explaining chemotherapy of brain cancer it mainly talks
of the medical practitioners, professionals, and the clinical general treatment of the brain cancer.
All the works researched and published in the journal shows the creative
advancement of the field with common attributes where the published articles are given a DOI
and a reference cross for easy identification. This gives an easier look of the new updates
concerning the chemotherapy. It also ensures an open access of the researched work (McCance,
2015).
The other journal of cancer diagnosis it has a main objective of publishing high
quality work that has been researched and is supported by know applicable facts. The journal
increases retrieval power of the researched information, convenience, and reach. It helps in
keeping cancer diagnosis researched articles together which helps in promoting cancer treatment
and diagnosis research (Baca SC, (2017)).

Pathophysiology of Brain Cancer Disease.
Pathophysiology these are continuous evaluation and the clinical manifestation or the show
up of the brain cancer disease on the human body that stars in the tissues and the organs outside
the central nervous system and spreads wide to attack mainly the brain (Vikram P., 2015).
The causes of Brain Cancer.
The main cause of this disease is unknown, but there are different risk factors which have
been identified by researchers which may cause brain cancer in general.
a) Exposure to the ionizing radiations (X-Rays).
b) The immune system suppression, this is usually associated with the family linkage.
c) The kind of diet one is under taking.
d) The social life of an individual stress.
e) Injuries or the local traumas.
f) Inflammation in the brain skull or infection.
The symptoms of brain cancer.
The symptoms of the type of disease depend on different aspects like the location of the
cancer in the body of the individual, the age, and the immune system. Location is the main for it
may induce pressure on the cancer by the nearby organs.
These symptoms include; Difficulties in speaking, problems in hearing, vision problems, chronic
headache, numbness of body parts, unexplained vomiting and nausea.

Descriptions of the clinical Assessment.
Brain cancer is a very crucial disease that if not handled in time can cause big damage to
the system of a particular person may even cause death. If brain cancer is suspected in one’s
body a neurological test is done to determine the overall functioning of the brain functioning.
The diagnosis of the brain cancer is usually done using different methods and
procedures such as; the X-Ray machine, computerized tomography scans and magnetic
resonance imaging. The location and the stage of brain cancer is determined by the proton
emission in the tomography scanner.
There also procedures that are used to determine and distinguish the type of the blood
supply that goes in and out of the cancer area. The blood supply also feeds the brain cancer and
supports its growth and development and is measured using angiography procedure.
Surgery is also used in the brain cancer assessment and involves the removal of a small part of
the brain tissue for laboratory analysis. The needle biopsy is mostly used and these is guided by
images from the CT scanners and the MRI to assess the size, position and blood supply of the
brain cancer (Jeri F., 2014).
During even brain cancer assessment is even add to determine the presence of this
disease if well-established symptoms starts to show up and it also depends on the location and
the type of the cancer.
Slow growing brain cancers can progress even for decades before starting showing serious
symptoms while for the fatal ones can start showing up as early as the 5
th
year of the attack to the

th
year. It is evident that others take less than a year. Brain cancer if discovered early enough
can be controlled and easy to manage and can be eliminated by use of drugs or therapy.
Modalities.
These are form in which the brain cancer is expressed, experienced or the modes in
which this disease exists in the body of the human skull. There are two different modalities of
brain cancer; the imaging modalities, and the new treatment modalities for brain cancer.
The imaging modalities, this is the modality of determining and studying patients
with signs and symptoms which are linked to brain cancer. The gadolinium chelates are the most
common agents which are used for imaging the central nervous system and evaluating it in
details. These day the brain imaging is improved and have a significant effect on the health of the
individual, improved imaging techniques also help in detection and study of the brain neoplasms.
The most improved imaging are in CT, and MRI and also introduction of advanced and new
techniques which are more clear and unique.
The treatment modalities for brain cancer, these includes different interventions for
brain tumor which may involve brain tissues biopsy for purposes of research and diagnosis of the
cancer and it may also consist of open brain surgery which aims at mass reduction of the
growing mass of cells by cutting the off and treating the area to stop them from growing again.
The modality aim at using a single method to stop brain cancer or combines more than two ways.

Evaluation of Treatments.
There are different types of the brain cancer and may differ from patient to another or
from hospital to the next. They include: Surgery, Radio therapy, and chemotherapy.
Evaluation of the treatments also is affected by the type of brain cancer, the cancers speed of
spreading and the rate of the cells division, and the type of the preventive drugs to be used during
the process of cancer treatment (Emil J. S., 2017)
Surgery.
This is the most frequently used method of brain cancer treatments and also the most
efficient mode of treatment. In many cases it is used to cure some cancers or it can be used only
to slow down the growth of the cell thus used to relieve the diseases symptoms as well as
prolonging the survival of the infected.
Surgery is expensive and need specialized skills to be conducted and ensure after the
completion other organs are not affected by the operation. In some cases complete removal of the
dividing cells is not possible, and is usually used just to trim the cell and slow their
multiplications not to advance to more delicate parts of the brain.
Radio Therapy.
This is also another method of treating cancer which aims at curing cancer but in other
cases it does not respond. This method works best with the fast growing mass of undifferentiated
cells which cause brain cancer (M, (2016) ).
9
Brain Cancer.
This method also involves use of the X-Rays which poses very high risks of the
healthy brain cells and tissues which could be affected by the radiations which may alter the
DNA sequences in the brain. The radiations should be done by a qualified personnel and with a
lot of keenness to avoid errors and the procedures well followed.
Gamma knife emits very strong beam of controllable beam of radiations which are
used in the analysis and treatment processes. These method is accompanied by different side
effects which affects the person being treated. They include, vomiting, diarrhea, skin irritation,
and the memory loss.
Chemotherapy.
This method is not used to cure brain cancer rather it is used as a preventive method
and reduce the effects of the symptoms. Chemotherapy used drugs to eliminate the cancer mass
of cells and the dose is taken in form of pills or it can be injected to the vein of the infected using
a syringe, and these drugs have a big side effects on the brain and the body as a whole.
The big problem is that the head has a hard skull which prevents the drugs from penetrating
the mind and thus an advanced drugs application is used. The only curative chemotherapy drugs
used to treat the brain cancer are Temodar which is taken as pills (D, (2016) ).
Diagnostic studies of brain cancer.
Diagnostic studies are the tests that are used in the brain cancer treatment, tests,
procedures, and the scans used. These studies are used to determine which type of cancer, size,
and the location where the cancer is found. The studies are also used to evaluate the rate of
10

division and speed of spreading of the cancer cell, also they dictate the type of the treatment to
use in the above three ways of treatments.
Factors to consider during diagnostic study.
a) The signs and symptoms being shown by the cancer.
b) The individual’s age and social life.
c) The type of brain cancer and its location in the skull.
d) The type of results after the analysis and the type of medication the person is under.
The different methods used include the, MRI, Tissue sampling, CT scan, Positron
Emission Tomography, Calabria Angiogram, Lumber tap, and the Myelogram.
Patient Education and Safety.
Brain cancer is a very delicate disease which each patient needs to be educated against
and be aware of its effects on the memory and the body functioning as a whole.
The patient should avoid use of the over counter drugs which mostly causes more harm
than good to the cancer body user.
The patient should frequently screened by a qualified neurologist and help him or her
understand his status.
Be keen with the prescribed medicines and ensure the dose is taken to completion to avoid
more harm which may be caused by under dose.
11
Brain Cancer.
The victim should avoid stress and live a simple life with no pressure to prolong his
survival and to avoid the cancer spread.
The patient’s diet should be balanced and putting in consideration the doctors advise not to
take alcohol and avoid smoking.
The patient should understand his type of brain cancer well to know weather is curable or
it is just to be controlled by surgery.
Conclusions.
Brain cancer is a disease that can attack anybody at any age but it can be prevented,
cured, or even the symptoms controlled not to harm the individual by reducing its weight of the
sigh caused by the same. It usually attacks the brain and it does not spread to the other parts of
the body. This type of cancer does not have a defined cause but it can be treated using therapy
and also drugs. Brain cancer is associated with many signs and symptoms but it’s very had to
treat it especially when noticed at later stages.
