Business: Airbnb and Khan Academy
Many individuals in the contemporary society have understood the art of engaging in
trade and dynamics that influence the economic stability of a country. Recently, the world is
embracing new ideas that are believed to be revolutionizing the market and disrupting old
business tactics. In this case, Airbnb is one of the models that have significantly influenced
engagements in the business environment, compelling people to create a sharing economy that is
much better than other platforms of trade. Unlike the Khan Academy that relies on funding from
philanthropic organizations such as Google LLC, Airbnb allows individuals to trade part of their
assets, a move that creates a culture of friendship among individuals in the world.
Looking at Airbnb's business model, it is essential to state that the E-commerce based
economy has a high chance to prosper than Khan Academy’s business approach. In the
contemporary society, the hospitality business is always booming, creating opportunities for
individuals in the industry to earn significant profits. Specifically, Airbnb allows individuals with
extra rooms and structures to lease them to travelers (Hamari, Mimmi, and Antti 2053). For
instance, a traveler on his way to Honolulu will log into the company’s site and preview a wide
range of houses where he will identify one and engage the owner. Unlike hotels and motels, an
individual can bargain with the owner and make special arrangements because of its flexible
nature.

For individuals in the middle class who cannot afford the expensive suites in prestigious
hotels, Airbnb allows individuals to have a homely feeling in destinations of their choice. Just
like a home where a person will prefer to have a silent environment away from the distractions of
busy hotels in the city, an individual will access such type of an ecosystem by booking a house
on Airbnb (Zervas, Davide, and John 690). From this observation, it is important to point out that
the platform gives the consumer a wide range of choice to enjoy specific products that meet their
expectations. Even though hotels are classy and secure, it is essential to state that Airbnb houses
offer an individual an opportunity to make decisions and enjoy a warm environment that
resembles his or her home.
Airbnb's booking platform has spread out its wings to many travel destinations across the
world, allowing individuals to earn revenue and make profits on their vacant property. In this
regard, it is crucial to note that the company's business approach can grow to become a standard
platform that meets the needs of all travel enthusiasts (Cohen and Jan 285). Even though Khan
Academy exposes students to tactics that allow them to solve challenges in their immediate
environment, Airbnb creates business value and enables property owners to make money from
their houses and other facilities. While this would be difficult to happen in the absence of
Airbnb, it is crucial to note that the ability of the platform to capitalize on the gap, makes it an
ideal business model.
Unlike the Khan Academy that relies on funding from philanthropic organizations such
as Google LLC, Airbnb allows individuals to trade part of their assets, a move that creates a
culture of friendship among individuals in the world. In fact, Airbnb has created business
opportunities for families in many tourist destinations through the creation of wealth. On the

sidelines, individuals become friends because of the personal approach that is established when
property owners interact with travelers.
