Why does this career path or position interest you?
I have a strong interest in understanding how and why things are the way they are and in that
case, I am certainly focused on conducting research and discovering why things are the way they
are. Normally, I am interested in researching any subject and I love being capable of explaining
the way thing are.
What brain functions and neuroscience most interest you and why?
The neuroscience and brain functions which I consider interesting is the disorders of
development as well as the disorders of ageing (e.g. Alzheimer’s). Precisely, Alzheimer’s and
dementia causes considerable negative impacts not only on the patient but to the entire family at
large. For this reason, I think it is an area which needs to be researched on so that the cause and
reason can be identified.
What academic training is required?
Preferably, a master’s degree is the academic training required in this field. A graduate degree in
science is also required.
Are there additional requirements (clinical practicum, research background)?
This specific career path requires a strong clinical research background, a minimum of 5 years of
experience in research at an academic or independent organization, state regulatory
requirements, excellent communication skills, and the ability to present ideas effectively in
different settings.
