Student’s Cell Phone Addiction
In the communications world, cell phones are very important. These devices have however
changed the way people interact with other people. The population greatly addicted is students
who use them in schools. The use of cell phones is risky and they have been known to cause
divided attention. They are the greatest distraction for students when they are learning. Most of
them are on their phones throughout either talking, listening to music using headphones, texting
while some are less concerned about their gadgets. Concentration in class is minimal because
many are thinking of how they can talk to their fellow friends and respond to their messages
through Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram and so on. Social Media is the main reason why so
many students are glued to their phones.
Other than affecting their class concentration, their performance is affected too. The situation is
sad because how people interact has changed in a big way. For instance, lunch is no longer
enjoyable as before because everyone is always busy looking at their phones. Also, due to too
much usage of phones affects how people interact once they meet face to face (Jones). I think
this trend ought to change to unite people just like it was in the past. Some may argue that one
might be left out without a phone but I believe moderation of using phones can be achieved.
