Climate change
The general climatic condition of the world has been experiencing shifts which have
made the temperatures to rise with about 1.5 Fahrenheit over the past century, and as if this is not
enough, further temperature increase with about 0.5-8.6 F is anticipated in the next hundred
years. Taking the United States, for example, it has been argued that global temperatures have
caused significant changes in the weather and climate with many places experiencing rainfall
that has led to flood and consequently droughts. More than ever, most of the states and nations
are experiencing the most severe and frequent heat waves that did not use to be there before the
human activities took holds (Livingstone, 1975).
Various facts exist to describe the possible cause of the sudden increase in temperatures
in most urban centers. First, according to Fritz & Sherilyn, (1996), urbanization has been blamed
as the major factor that has led to the increase in temperatures beyond the global scale which
causes urban heat islands. CO2 coming from industries and other automotive is the primary
ingredient that has brought all these climate changes in the world. Being a highly industrialized
nation, the United States’ level of CO2 has been doubling in every 30years.
Solution
The only viable solution to the climatic changes being experienced in the 21st century is
insulating ourselves and our homes. Besides, the clean energy policy adopted by the United

States has ensured that over 20 percent of the new companies are using clean energy to run the
production affairs. Robust and efficient standards on emission will see in it that the level of CO2
released into the environment every day by vehicles and industries is reduced. Finally, to
navigate and survive the impending global warming danger, nations must be willing to join
hands in curbing deforestation (Bradshaw & Mcneilly).
