Part 2
Team Development Plan
The overall goal of the Team Development Plan is to ensure that the there is an overall
respect among team members and that there is proper time management. As a leader, it therefore
becomes essential to promote team building to enable effective team leadership with each team
member where the relationship of loyalty and trust are cultivated. In doing this, several factors
need to be considered:
Identification of the Team’s Needs
The most essential step during planning of the team building activities is the identification of the
strengths and weaknesses of the team (Aga, Noorderhaven, & Vallejo, 2016). During this
process, several questions may be asked with the motive of finding the possibilities of any
problems, such as:
Are there any conflicts among team members that are creating divisions among the team
members?
Do the team members have to know each other better?
Does poor communication within the team influence group progress?
Does the team need to work together as opposed to working isolated and individually?

Getting to know your Team
The team comprises of people who have different personalities, ambitions and needs. A
happy and trusting team can be built by taking initiative to know each team member and helping
them to also know about each other. Activities such as hosting a pre-holiday party, or an
inexpensive team barbeque can be an essential way of making team members mix and mingle
together (Fiscella, 2017).
Working Towards a Common Goal
By inspiring the team to work towards a shared goal or vision can lead to accomplishing
time management very effectively. This prevents any individual from straying away from the
prescribed directions which may waste time, be ineffective and frustrating (Lamm, 2016).
Developing Strong Team Skills
Mutual respect among team members can be developed by making the team members
develop proper skills and competencies aimed at achieving their goals. Matching individuals
with right roles can enable them to be productive and motivated.
