Demographic assessment
Sentinel city have been widely used in the research and the presentation of the report
about the health simulation at different levels and places. The city is occupied by four major
communities that have a population of more than 600, 000 people. The population has been
broken down in terms of ethnicity and it has the Caucasian, the Black as well as the African
Americans, the Asians and the Alaska Natives. The Caucasian occupy the largest population that
is represented by 80.65. In the Caucasian population, the Non-Hispanic occupy more than 52%
of the population. The black Americans, on the other hand, occupy 10.4%the Americans, the
Indians, as well as the Native Alaska, occupy 2%. The Asians have a population that is
represented by 3.7% while the other occupants together with the Islanders occupy 0.2%
(Sentinel, 2018). The communities that are represented here include the Nightingale, Casper
Park, the Acer Tech and Industrial heights.
The age distribution of the population at the Sentinel city consists of more than 7% of the
population consisting of the individuals less than 5 years. The individuals who are below 18
years are represented by 21% while those who are beyond 65 years of age are represented by
10%. This distribution means that the individuals who are between the ages of 19 to 64 years
which is an age of the individuals who are generative have been represented by more than 60%.
At Nightingale, the individuals who are less than 5 years have been represented by 2.4%those
who are below 18 years which is the age associated with adulthood is represented with 5.9%.
Those who are above 65 years of age at Nightingale Square is represented by 13.9% this leaves
the generative population to be represented by 77.8%

COMMUNITY HEALTH SIMULATION
The population distribution at Archer Tech Centre has been distributed such that 4.1%
represent the individuals that are below 5 years of age. Those who are below 18 years of age
have been represented by 7 %. Those who are 65years or older have been represented by
19.8%this distribution means that 70% of the population have been occupied by the individuals
between 19 and 64 years. In the third district (Casper Park District), the distribution has been
made to include the 10.9% representing the people below 5 years of age those who are below 18
years have been represented by 33.8%. The one who is beyond 65years is represented by 6.5%
and therefore those who are between 19 and 64 years have been represented by 48.8%.
The household income in the Sentinel city at the median level is 439, 091 dollars. The
Nightingale Square has the highest median household income of 269,550 dollars. The Industrial
Community has the lowest median household income of $24,672. The Archer Tech Center
community registers a median household income of 166,300 dollars while Casper Park District
has a median household income that occupies the second last position of $80,134 (Sentinel City,
2018). The statistics that have been availed show that among the four communities in the
Sentinel City, three have a median household income that is slightly beyond the median
household income of the Sentinel city by more than 31,000 dollars. These districts are the Archer
Tech Community, the Nightingale Square as well as the Casper Park (Sentinel City). Sentinel
City community health simulation data, 18.9% of the population have been associated with
living with conditions that are below the poverty level.

COMMUNITY HEALTH SIMULATION
After the evaluation of the data, it is not a surprise to find out that the income percentages
of the communities are comparable with that of the percentages of the communities that are not
insured. The availability of the communities that are not insured in all the communities was
evaluated and Nightingale Community there was a 0.7 representation which recorded the lowest
number of individuals that lack the insurance cover. The Industrial heights have the highest
representation of the people who are not insured and this is represented by 37.5 percent of the
population. Archer Pack has 1.5%vof the population that is not insured. The Casper pack on the
other has a 22.7% of the population without the insurance cover.
Neighborhood/community safety inventory
The region that attracted a lot of concern in the Sentinel City simulation is the Industrial
Height Community. In this section, there was a lot of trash that was around the sidewalks and the
rats had occupied the territories. This made the research to be concentrated more on the area
knowing that rats are known to be carriers of the diseases. The buildings around the place were
having an elderly outlook and on top of this they were painted with graffiti and this was done in
almost all the buildings in that particular community. The sides of the roads in the community
had remains of the vehicle probably those that had ever had an accident and the places where
they located was next to a dustbin where the trash was normally burnt. This seemed to be a crime
scene. The places were occupied with dustbins that were labeled with handles that were made of
hazardous materials. The sideways were occupied by the hay pots that could be associated with
health problems and they could also be hindering the riding of the bikes and they may also cause
injuries or even accidents.
5
COMMUNITY HEALTH SIMULATION
The area has a lot of stray animals and therefore the interaction with the rats along the
road may be a transformation of the diseases through the completion of the lifecycle of the
causative agents. At the outskirt of the area, there are storefronts that are potential crime scenes
that are associated with windows that are broken, the policemen and women were around the
place and a crime tape was around the place. During the time, there was a siren that did not have
a clear understanding of the cause of the siren and I didn’t notice any other situation during the
simulation. There was also a considerable amount of graffiti at the Carper Park District and the
place also had a lot of trash that resembled the previous area where the simulation had started.
The rats, as well as the stray animals, were also part of the occupants of the region.
Drug abuse is yet another factor that was in the Sentinel city according to the report. The
drugs have been in use with a varied simultaneously. Tobacco was used at the rate of 24% across
the city. Alcohol was used at the rate of 26%, marijuana12%, club drug2%, CNS depressants at
5%, cocaine 5%, and heroin 7%alcohol have been in use with the highest frequency and also it
recorded the highest percentage while the Methamphetamine has been used with the lowest
percentage. The type of the prescribed drugs that have been in use in the Sentinel city as per the
prescription has been in use as follows. Simvastatin 11%, levothyroxine sodium9 %, insulin 4%,
omeprazole 8% among other prescriptions (Sentinel City, 2018). The data shows that
Hydrocodone has been in use with the highest percentage while insulin has the lowest percentage
in terms of use.

COMMUNITY HEALTH SIMULATION
The Emergency Medical Service response to the emergency case on the Sentinel city
have been as the following. The fire brigade takes less than seven minutes to be at the crime
scene. The Emergency Medical Service, as well as a travel team, takes less than 8 minutes to be
at the place where they are urgently needed. Advanced life support team takes 8 minutes and the
time to respond to shock is less than seven minutes at maximum. The other cities that have been
compared with the Sentinel city have not recorded the best time and the best time have been
recorded at Sentinel City. This record has been put in place despite the fact that Sentinel has 250
firemen a number that is the lowest among the cities that have been compared with Sentinel. It
also has 30 Paramedics who are supposed to attend to 100, 000 individuals in the city (Sentinel
City, 2018). Those could be the same reason why the response times at the Sentinel City is quite
better than what is recorded in the other cities.
The arrests according to the data from the city police in the city hall include the warrant
that is presented by 23% of the total percent. Reckless conduct represents 6% of the total arrest
in the city. Criminal trespassing 9%, battery 17%, controlled substance 16% while the other
arrests represent 23%the act of having the gang violence is present in the city and this
information was disclosed by the city hall police. The gangs that are present in the city are
associated with Homicide, Simple Assault, Aggravated Assault as well as Robbery (Sentinel
City, 2018). Most of the common gang violence is the Aggravated Assault that have 100 cases.

Windshield survey
Sentinel city have the qualifications of being an urban city. The housing, as well as the
commercial buildings, are made of bricks and they are pleasant in appearance and they are
maintained at the best level in Nightingale Square and also in the Casper Park district
Community. The vehicles are more run with a variety of broken windows, metal bars that are
over the doors and windows and the buildings are associated with a lot of graffiti and this is
particularly found in the Casper Park District and I the Industrial heights. Trash is a common site
behind all the buildings in the area and the least amount of trash that has been found is in
Nightingale Square followed by the Acer Tech Center and the most trash has been found in the
Industrial Heights Communities.
The open places in the entire city are very few and the few that are available are found
around the city hall. They are managed by the Sentinel City Department of recreational buildings
and parks. The open space has been maintained for a long time and it is in the best position until
today. The place has a landscape of grass as well as trees. An open space is found within the
Sentinel City Department of recreational as well as the parks and they are used as the golf and
basketball courts. Others are used as a playground while others have relaxing benches and they
are also maintained by the innate that do the landscaping who carry out the cleaning.

COMMUNITY HEALTH SIMULATION
There are no natural or artificial boundaries that prevent the neighbors from visiting each
other. The economic differences, however, prevail between the occupants of the regions. The
industries are present and they are a common site while one is visiting the industrial Heights. The
buildings seem to be running down as one moves from the Nightingale Square towards the
industrial Heights. There are signs that make an individual know that they are entering the Acer
Tech Centre as well as in the Industrial Heights. There are signs that are probably written in
English or in Spanish at the entrance of the cities
In the respective areas as well as the cities, it seems the individuals have hangout areas.
The occupants of the Nightingale Square seem to hang out around the tennis and basketball
areas. The city hall is the best hangout area and it has been used to protest by the Acer Tech
Centre community. The protests that are evident in the city hall center and they are associated
with the increase in the taxes. The Industrial Height has playgrounds that are basically used by
the school children in most of the cases. The playground seems to have very few people who are
found to hang out in the place.

Analysis of the collected data
There were a lot of areas of concern according to the data that have been collected about
the Sentinel City. The areas of concern are to be reviewed for the benefit of the entire
community. During the interview, various individuals are concerned about the issues of security
as well as the crime rates in the city. The major concern is about the safety of the city according
to the store business owner Raja Kakkam. He works for long hours in cooperation with his wife
and the store have been robbed several times and even most recently prior to the interview and
they are worried when they see young men and women who are homeless hanging around the
streets (Sentinel City, 2018). As it was mentioned earlier, the most increased crime rates are the
Aggravated Assult and it has been followed by robbery.
During the analysis of the information about the Sentinel City that was provided from the
Health Simulation Demographics of the city. More than 4 percent of the births were associated
with the women between the ages of 10 to 19 years. The teenagers who become pregnant will
complete the basic education but they are not likely to proceed with the education to the higher
level. If there are those who will continue the number cannot exceed 50% (Healthy People
2020). The percentage of the teenagers who make it to the higher level of education probably at
the degree level and those who do not become pregnant at the teenage is 90%.the data analyzes
all the teens as well as the mothers and fathers who are involved in getting the children at
teenage.

Discuss three problems for sentiment city based on the healthy people 2020
The issue of water is yet another concern for the Sentinel City that was brought on board
by the interviewee Julia Benjamin in the Simulation. Julia was concern about the water in the
city as well as its quality in the city claiming that the reservoir that is located in the north and the
jobless population is mostly located in the regions. The project that is underway and the one that
can help the population that is homeless is the construction of affordable houses that is being
steered by the city. The affordable houses will enable the homeless to be in a home and they will
be able to pay less amount as per their income (Sebtinel City, 2018). This process will help in the
reduction of the water pollution around the reservoir and therefore the quality of drinking water
in the city is improved.
Identify the primary prevention topic on the problem you selected in part C #2
In the primary to[ic, water problem was a major concern and the quality of the water at
the Sentinel City was reducing gradually. The contaminants were going into the city drinking
water that the ground level as well as the surface water. The interviewee Julia indicates that the
problems are being dealt with through the abandonment of the buildings that are being converted
into the homeless centers as well as the playgrounds for the criminals. The second step that is
helping to deal with the issue is the aspect of converting the homeless to home occupants and
thereby breaking the cycle of the homeless. The resources that are provided for the homeless will
enable them at the beginning of the jobs as well as training on the skills that will improve their
competence in the job market.

COMMUNITY HEALTH SIMULATION
Julia Benjamin also outlines the fact that the project will help in the cleaning of the city
through e provision of the necessary sanitary services through the city council. The services can
be trained through the training like the one done in the Interfaith Church (Sentinel City, 2018).
The activities will eventually help in the prevention of the spread of the diseases to the human
beings. The education that is provided to the occupants of the city will help them to understand
the importance of maintaining good health and they will be able to handle their waste properly
and finally help to dispose of them accordingly. The jobless community that is trained will get
the employment in these sectors and therefore they will be able to boost their income.
Discuss how you will apply the assessment strategies you have learned from the simulation
environment to your community assessment strategies in your community
After the active involvement in the Sentinel Simulation, it is possible for an individual to
analyze the areas in their community that need to be improved on various aspects. The analysis
will also help an interested individual to carry out a plan on how to get the resources that are
needed to improve the situations. As a loyal citizen, one may begin with the smallest act, for
example, the cleaning of the cities on a regular basis. This will attract the interested well-wisher,
non-governmental organizations or even the international bodies and they can provide the raw
materials as well as the resources that are needed.
