Echoing the 67-year-old African American man, I strongly agree with his statement that
our main aim is to make our generation better than that before us. This is because change is
always inevitable, and this change always comes with a difference from one generation to the
other. In addition, the previous generation made a lot of mistakes that they wouldn’t like their
children and grandchildren to face again. Therefore, the experience our fathers and forefathers
had and the determination to bring a difference provide an opportunity to make us learn new
ways of bettering our current generation.
Furthermore, most parents want the best for their children. According to experts, each
generation often strives to exceed the achievements of one before them. They, therefore, have
big dreams and ambitions of having some of the most paying jobs; have best luxurious and finer
lives than the parents. Despite the tough reality, situations, and challenges faced by our present
generation, the motive to work hard and exceed the prior generation is always active. For
instance, there have been increased technological innovations in the present generation x as
compared to the previous millennial generation. Through this advancement in technologies, our
present generation is capable of achieving a lot of progress, development and sustainable living
as compared to the generation before.
