DRIVING EDUCATION TO REDUCE ROAD ACCIDENTS 2
Driving Education to Reduce Road Accidents
One of the most painful occurrences is to lose a loved one in a road accident. In our
efforts to enhance road safety, the best way is to ensure that aspiring drivers obtain road licences
only after rigorous training. Competent motorists can observe traffic rules, respect other road
users and attain defensive techniques to avert probable accidents.
Safe driving education trains upcoming divers to observe traffic rules. A study by
Rosenbloom, Eliyahu, & Nemrodov (2016) identified that adhering to traffic rules can abate road
carnage by over 35%. A strict observance, however, cannot be achieved unless we train road
users before licensing them. In this light, teaching every aspiring driver to observe rules is
imperative to address mishaps on our highways.
Despite our struggle to make ends meet, respecting the people with whom we share our
roads would significantly minimize accidents (Singh, Kushwaha, Agarwal, & Sandhu, 2016).
Recognizing the value of other people on the street would constrain a driver to control the
intensity of headlamps, learn when to accelerate, when to signal and where to park. Taking
driving education would offer carters the soft skills needed to esteem other road users
appropriately, which would enhance safety.
Defensive driving is an essential skill, which drivers cannot reasonably achieve without
proper training. According to Huang, & Shi, (2016), some drivers get involved in accidents that
are not their faults, but that of other road users. Training our drivers will offer them knowledge
on how to act within the law under threats of an accident, which would save their lives and those
of other road users.
