EFFECTIVENESS OF GROUP MEMBERS 2
Introduction
Among rational decision-making individuals, working in groups facilitates the development of
synergies consistent with group dynamics. However, challenges exist including the negative
effects of group thinking and tendencies towards conformity. While working as a volunteer at
Nightingale Garden, I gained inferences on challenges that a group faces, and possible ways of
handling setbacks. While tending to clients at the garden, seeking to purchase fruits and flower
products, the process involved taking notes, and engaging in tests to evaluate the effectiveness of
group members. This is essential since it relates with an individual ability to contribute in team
building. Due to the existence of individuals with varying interests within Nightingale Garden
group, the level of functioning of the group depends on common goals and shared objectives.
When the objectives and functions of a group align with that of individuals, the ability to achieve
the functions exists strongly. The effectiveness my group at Nightingale Garden relies on the
strengths and weaknesses of members in activities such as decision-making for garden activities,
integrating ideas from other group members and the level of agreeableness in a group. To get a
better analysis of my participation and working functions in Nightingale Garden, this paper
focuses on the effectiveness of group members in the progression of the group while relying on
the self-assessment of members within a group.
Functions within Nightingale Garden and Group characteristics
The effectiveness of Nightingale Garden group depends on the level of team cohesiveness and
efforts involved in meetings of group objectives. A group of high performance leads to yielding

Garden with moderate productivity achieves group objectives at a lower level due to having low
