EFFECTS OF TELECOMMUTING ON THE SOCIETY 2
Effects of telecommuting on the society
The growth of telecommuting have positive and negative effects on the society. As more
people work from homes, less money is spent on fuel, or flights. Both employees and the
employers benefits from this growth, leading to better performance on the company (Bernardino,
2017). For instance, the company no longer provide their employees with travel allowances. The
employees will reduce the time spent on the road, hence have more time to work, or be with their
families. As employees travel less often, there is less likelihood of an accident occurring or them
being victims of carjacking or other related crimes.
The growth of telecommuting helps reduce environmental pollution and facilitate efforts
to conserve the environment (Javid et al, 2014). Research assets that vehicles greatly contribute
to the emission of carbon dioxide and other gases that contribute to environmental pollution
(Javid et al, 2014). If more companies adapt to telecommuting, there are higher chances that the
society will record reduced emissions of pollutant gases from vehicles. If more people operate
from their homes, they will be able to reduce littering hence conserving the environment. People

them.
The growth of telecommuting have positive effects on families, and the professional
