Emirates Airline Fleet and Route Planning
Emirates Airline is an airway operating company based in United Arab Emirates,
Dubai. It is a government-owned parastatal and the largest airline company in the Middle
East. It operates internationally with approximately 3600 flights from the base international
airport in Dubai to some cities, in approximately 81 countries across the globe, per week.
Besides, it has the Sky Cargo which operates the Cargo activities within its route destination.
This airline is operating internationally and is ranked fourth by revenue schedules of flowing
passengers-kilometers, second world largest in flowing freight-tonne kilometer and the
world’s largest non-stop airline operating from Dubai to the farthest city of Auckland. It was
surpassed by the Qatar Airways which operates from Doha to the city of Auckland. This
airline started with a start-up capital of $10 million which was subsidized by the government.
Its operations are being led by Ahmed bin Saeed who was appointed as the chairman of the
airline and moved its operations from Pakistan international airport to Dubai international
terminal airport. Emirates airline operates both the Airbus fleets and wide-body Boeing
aircraft (Rory Jones & David Crossland). This airline is capable of operating in any part of
the world. New routes of the Emirates airlines in some parts of South America are discussed
in this research paper.
From the research done, it shows that some parts of South America are yet to be
accessed internationally using any of the airlines in the world. Qatar and Emirates are the
famous and most operating airlines in most parts of the six continents of the globe. These two
companies have somehow ignored some parts of South America which will be analyzed and

proven to be productive in operating this airline. The new routes that are previously not used
by the airline across the parts of South America are in countries like Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador,
Guyana, and Venezuela. In Chile, the Emirates airline opened a new route so it can be now
accessed using this airline. The airline's operations in South America dwelled in Argentina
and Brazil. New routes of the destinations in the countries as mentioned above should be
opened by the Emirates airline to ensure open access of those countries internationally has
been increased. This route destinations that are analyzed in this paper are Dubai international
airport to the following international airports in South America, Sucre, La Paz, Lima, Quito,
Chimbordo, George Town, Caracas, and Balver. This will ensure proper access of the
Emirates airline to the western part of South America. The Emirates airline has the potential
of opening up the destinations mentioned above.
Leisure travel is demanded in South America provided by the Emirates airline.
Recently, the Emirates airline opened a new service from Dubai to some parts of South
America like Santiago. Many travelers are demanding the extension of the Emirates airline
from Santiago to other cities like Cusco. The flight can fly from Dubai to these cities with
stopovers on based cities in South America. New routes of the destinations in the countries as
mentioned above should be opened by the Emirates airline to ensure open access of those
countries internationally has been increased.The opening of this new destinations by the
Emirates airline made it easier for the people across the globe to access the world-class
destination like some cities in southern Argentina, for example, the city of Ushuaia. Other
places of South America like Chile are the world’s best landscape dramatic like the volcanoes
of Atacama Desert. All the places mentioned above are really of importance when accessed
by many airliners to increase the number of people traveling to these places. This paper
describes how Emirates Airliners can extend their route destination to cover more places of
South America to be accessed internationally. These airliners have the capability of extending
their route destination to access new airline routes in South America. These route destinations

are as described above. Using the route cost analysis in this paper, it will provide enough
detailed information on the extension of these routes.
Despite there being so many types of aircraft in Emirates Airliners, the research will
base on the use of Emirates A380 aircraft. Other capable aircraft that can be used on this new
route destination are Boeing 777s, Lear Jet 35A and Turbo Jet. The Emirates A380 aircraft is
preferred in this routes since it has some shower spas and private suites with flat belts in first
classroom, custom and extra lighting rooms in economy class. All this makes the long travel
routes to some parts of South America to be luxury. Besides, the engine of Emirates A380 is
capable of being used for a long time of flight. The A380 aircraft has an environment that is
being enhanced making flying enjoyable. The onboard lounge of this aircraft has a design
that is sleeked with some ivory, wood grain and bronze making them comfortable for the
passengers. The jet has some setters for an ambient setting of the sitting arrangement, sinks
for relaxing with some LED lighting for entertainment. It also has a 55 inch LCD TV screen
for live news catching from all the other parts of the world as passengers are on their board.
The A380 aircraft has some rejuvenating showers that live the passengers feeling
being inspired after taking their shower on the A380 shower spa and has some timeless
signature and toilets which help the passengers to detoxify and boost them making them
ready for the day for flying for a long journey like from Dubai to Lima in Peru. The aircraft
has some private slide doors which make the passengers be unwound with some mini-bars
that enables them to have an exclusive glass of wine for their pleasure. In this private rooms,
one can choose an entertainment of his or her choice. The seats of this aircraft can be
converted to smart flatbeds with mattresses for sleeping. They also provide some table
mirrors for the passengers to prepare themselves for a day ahead after waking up from their
sleep due to traveling for long journeys. There are also Wi-Fi connections in this aircraft that
makes the passengers browse and stay online as they travel on their long journeys. This

makes the A380 aircraft being capable of operating in the new planned route destinations for
the emirates airliners to operate in South America.
The A380 aircraft has a wide body of approximately 550 square meters cabin space.
This space provides the sitting arrangement for approximately 525 passengers in three
configuration classes. It is the largest passenger airliner in the world. This aircraft was offered
initially in two models, an A380-800 and an A380F (Platt and Crang). The passengers' cabin
is designed in a way to reduce travelers fatigue such as the interior quieter and high pressure
from the previous aircraft. The cabin has less noise, large windows and extra headroom for
the passengers' luxury while traveling for long distances. It has a lower an upper deck
connected by a staircase to accommodate more passengers and allow multiple sitting
configurations.
The maximum certified passenger capacity is 853. This aircraft has publicity which is
stressed to accommodate the comfort and space of its cabin. Due to increased demand of
people from the Middle East and other parts of the world accessing South America, the
Emirates airliner will reduce this demand by using Emirates A380 aircraft to enable people
traveling to and fro South America. This aircraft caters for approximately 850 people to
travel to and from South America per route. The emirates airliner can use A380 aircraft to
transport so many passengers in their cargo to and from South America. The Emirates
Airliner management team should choose multiple destinations and hubs for these aircraft to
be operating on to increase the number of passengers. This hubs and destinations should be
based on approximately all parts of the six continents to make South America more easily
accessible.
The new route schedule for the emirates airliners based on the new destination should
be able to cater for the travel of the people from the Emirates Airliner headquarters in Dubai
international airport to access South America. This schedule will cover an aircraft that will be
operating on new hub and destination. The airliner schedule will cover the new destination in

this research based in South America. The destinations to be aimed in South America is La
Paz in Bolivia. The schedule will also include the travel from Dubai international airport to
Lopez international airport in South America. The schedule will also be based on the time of
the aircraft that will be flying to the new destination from Dubai international airport, the
emirates airliners headquarters. The schedule is as shown in the table below. It will be used
later to estimate the profits that the emirates airliners will be making to make the
commencement of these routes to destinations in South America. The route will entail the
emirates airliners to use four A380 aircraft to operate on the newly opened route that will
enable access of South America.

The schedule above is arranged in a number of the aircraft. The four A380 aircrafts
are proposed in this research are numbered from number 1 to number 4. The aircraft are also
time-based on departing from Dubai international airport to the South American’s La Paz city
international airport that are as shown in the schedule above. The main hub for the start of
this routes to access South America will be Dubai the headquarters of the emirates airliners.
This route from Dubai to La Paz in Bolivia will ensure easy access of interested people to use
the Emirates airliner to reach South America. The emirates airliners will have opened up a
new route service to serve its customers and open access to South America.
This paper will estimate the yield of the company, revenue of the company, load
factor that will be laid on the emirates airliners and RASK factors after the introduction of the
new route of the flights. This will depend on the prevailing rates of the fares and cargo rates

that will eventually be analyzed to show out the effectiveness of the emirates airliners on
starting the new routes to South America. The emirates airliner company is expected to have
a yield and load factor for the purchasing of the four A380 aircraft that will be operating on
this routes. The prevailing fares of the air flight are moderating and also as the cargo rates.
Ceteris paribus, the yield, revenue, load factor and RASK for the new routes are as estimated
in the table below.
This paper discusses the route from Dubai to La Paz city. The hubs of this aircraft will
be departing from different places to La Paz international airport in Bolivia. This route will
open up Bolivia to the outside world. The route will base its destination in La Paz
international airport. This paper will analyze the impacts of emirates airliner opening up the
route mentioned above. Bolivia is a country that needs to be accessed as it is in South
America where the tourists and other people are always thinking of venturing for its
advancement. People from all the world will use the newly opened route to access South
America if emirates airliner opens up the new route. The amount of then yield, revenue, load
factor and RASK factors shown in the table below are in a million dollars. This amount is
used to draw the weight chart of the newly opened route that operates from Dubai to La Paz
using the A380 aircraft by Emirates airliners. The weight diagram chart is also shown in the
chart below that shows the above-mentioned factors.

2.0 Key Cost
An aircraft to operate must use some fuel. The emirates airliners must incur some
costs to purchase for the fuel used in the A380 aircraft. The cost of the fuels is shown in the
table below. This cost depends on the distance and the number of aircraft flying in a given
route. Since it is not possible for the five aircraft given a certain route to fly at the same time,
the fuel costs on the table below are based on the number of crafts that will be flying from the
given route in the table. The costs are as per to and from the hub and destination respectively.
These costs are used in an analysis of what the Emirates airline company on the fuel
costs that enables the company management to decide on the starting of this new route. This
analysis will involve drawing of charts and graphs for statistical data analysis. The charts will
be drawn based on the regression analysis of the route destinations and the cost of fuel of the
company that is incurred on the use of the routes. The graph and regression analysis will be
analyzed to see the efficiency of the new route. This route destination will base at La Paz in
Bolivia. The table fuel cost, regression analysis and graph are as shown below.

required crews to operate the use of the A380 aircraft. The cost of the employment and salary
payments of the crews are shown in the table below. This cost depends on the distance and the
number of aircraft flying in a given route. Since it is not possible for the five aircraft given a
certain route to fly at the same time, the crew costs on the table below are based on the
number of crafts that will be flying from the given route in the table. The costs are as per to

emirates airliners must incur some costs to purchase for the aircraft used in the A380 aircraft
new route. The cost of the airplanes is shown in the table below. The costs in the table are the

are categorized into one aircraft in each route. The cost of a single A380 aircraft is estimated
at $500 million. The newly opened route between Dubai hubs to access the destination of La
Paz in Bolivia will use approximately four A380 aircraft as explained in this paper. The total
cost of the four aircraft will be $2 billion. This can be analyzed by regression analysis to
show the coefficients that will help in concluding opening the new route to South America.

newly opened route to South America based on La Paz destination. The navigation costs vary
as the aircraft flies from Dubai to La Paz and vice versa. This varies due to the air routes used
and the places for a rest since it is approximately 32 hours journey.

3.0 Conclusion and Recommendation
From the above sky costs, it is clear to conclude that the Emirates Airliner should
start the route destinations described in this paper. There are analyzed fuel cost, maintenance
cost, crew cost, aircraft cost and tax cost. From this analysis, we can conclude that the costs
incurred by the Emirates airliner to start a route destination are affordable and this company
is capable of starting the route operations described in this paper. This will open up South
America and make it be easily accessed from all parts of the world. The aircraft are also time-
based on departing from various destinations to the South American cities international
airports that are as shown in the schedule above. The main hubs for the start of this routes to
access South America will be based on the continent level the main one being Dubai the
headquarters of the emirates airliners. The success of the emirates Airliner Company starting
the above-discussed route is by increasing their profits from their annual records, open the
access to South America, make the transport between South America and the other six
continents easy and enable tourists to venture some attractive places like La Paz in South
America. This research recommends that the Emirates airliner company open up the
mentioned routes to South America. This is because it is among the largest administration
city in the world and has some tourist attraction sites.
