Introduction

People are motivated by authors which influences the experiences and situations that

people find themselves in many times than not. In Homemade Education by Malcolm X, it is

evidence of what one goes through when they are not knowledgeable and also the pressures the

society has to affect individuals. Malcolm X shows how he got to n=build himself up in a prison

cell by using a dictionary. In this essay, I will get to focus on the summary of the book, the

experiences, situations, and people that motivated Malcolm, what matters to Malcolm and the

obstacles he met along the way.

There are situations, experiences of other individuals that motivate Malcolm to follow his

path rather one prescribed by others by the family and the society. Malcolm has different

ideologies from the ones that he is interacting with different individuals. Malcolm X didn't

pursue a set belief system, for example, communism or the majority rule government. For

Andree he says, “Through we had adapted to change in America… the idea that collective

assigns and directs the destiny of an individual was still the overreaching impetus that operated
