An increased rate of reliance on the web has enlarged the scope of human trafficking. For 
example, children are friend requested on the social media by their perpetrators, who pretend to 
be potential lovers. In the end, they convince them to meet in some places, where they kidnap 
and sell them to prostitution. 
Language 
The  language  used  to  describe  the  victim  of  sex  trafficking  has  often  criticized  the 
victims and profiled offenders as innocent. For example, the terms like "whore” or “prostitute” 
have frequently been used to give a false notion that victims opted to be exploited. Traffickers, 
on the other hand, have taken advantage of this blame game to gain from this awful activity. 
Real life example 
After  losing  his  father,  Queen  recalls  being  oppressed  by  her  uncle.  She  decided  to 
relocate from Nigeria in 2014 after she was given false promises of finding a good job in Niger 
(Queen 2016). While in her new destination, Queen recalls being approached by a Libyan man 
who promised to pay her around six times what she used to earn in Nigeria. Little did Queen 
know that she was turning herself into the world of prostitution. She says, she would be raped by 
several men in a Libyan hotel room. The ordeal continued for years until a Nigerian man rescued 
her and taken to a refugee camp in Italy.  
Conclusion 
Children and the likes of Queen are not prostitutes; rather they are just sexually exploited. 
Therefore, challenging how we profile exploiters and victims will assist change how the society
