A. The title of my chosen image is Les Demoiselles D’Avignon by Pablo Picasso.
B. The medium for this painting is oil plant. The technique is painting.
C. The subject of this image is the symbolic elements of sexuality and marginality in the form of
prostitution. The style is cubism
D. The two major elements of this film are:
Picasso depicts all the figures in his painting as being deformed, with misshapen breasts
and legs and arms that look like flattened planes.
Three of these figures have their faces masked. This painting has got brash and bold
diagonal lines which serve to add a violence sense to the work. Only in a general
sense are the color accurate.
The colors are not used to represent coloring as it is in real life. Instead, their use in this
painting is mainly to make a suggestion and make the difference between the differing
forms present in the painting.
E. The principle that Picasso uses in this painting is variety. The five pink women are entangled
in draperies of silver and blue hue, with two of them raising their arms to flaunt the breasts.
The three others are masked. The two on the right side are in African masks while the one on
the left side is in a brown wooden face simulacrum.
