Ethical Issues in Testing for Genetic Di
Healthcare development has significantly been advocated across the globe. The inclusion
of technology in health care programs has been associated with different benefits around the
world. However, there exists lots of concern regarding Di Genetic Testing. The ideology of
whether to promote genetic testing or not has expressed an ethical dilemma in the world today.
Therefore, this essay has been set to present the vital problem associated with knowing
individual future genetics and the implication of genetic testing on eugenics.
The major problem with genetic testing is the emotional torture that entails guilt, anxiety,
fear and relief (Genetic Alliance UK, N.p). The fundamental factor to consider understands the
consequences both at an individual level and the family as a whole upon receiving good and bad
news regarding the tasting. Usually, genetic testing is used in proving a specific diagnosis.
However, there are likelihoods that the proven disease has no treatment and is likely to be
inherited by the family offspring (Genetic Alliance UK, N.p). In other cases, there is likelihood
that mutations within the genes and chromosomes may remain unidentified. The results do not
mean that variations are not present but just as a result of failure to identify the mutations using
the current laboratory technologies. Furthermore, genetic testing is likely to reveal the family
secrets regarding paternity and adoption. Lastly, the examination may fail to acknowledge the
extent to which the individual will be affected. Therefore, it’s significant to be aware of the

frustrating nature of genetic Di testing. For instance, frustrations are both at the individual level
and the family as a whole.
The interconnection between Di testing and eugenics is on a great discussion and
arguments across the globe. Eugenics involves the process of trying to improve the genetic
composition of the human race (Genetic Generation N.p). The goals are achieved through
selective breeding. Genetic Di testing is a contributing factor to Eugenics for making individuals
aware of their genetic composition and how to promote changes for a better future. An individual
with no information about his/her genetic makeup will hardly think of how to improve his race to
a preferred type.
