Ethical Problem Human Right
Ethics are the set of rules and guidelines that determine the rightness or wrongness of a
deed. Ethics places a significant emphasis on the person's moral inclination and helps an
individual assess whether what they have done is correct or whether it will harm other people.
Morality is also a subject that is discussed alongside ethics (Darwall, 2017). It involves the
values and personal principles that guide an individual's behaviours at all time. This paper is a
reflective essay that will expound on ethical theory and an ethical issue altogether.
Ethics has various theoretical concepts that explain the right reaction to different
situations. These include virtue ethics theory, Kant theory, egoism and utilitarianism. Virtue
ethics emphasize the importance of personal characteristics in doing good or bad, whereas Kant
theory states that a deed can only be termed as good if it is per the set moral laws. Egoism
defends the idea that all actions should favor individual interests first. Utilitarianism believes in
the results of an action to establish whether it is right or wrong (Rodger & Blackshaw, 2017).
I prefer the theory of utilitarianism. This is because I feel this theoretical concept weighs

my case.
Concerning euthanasia, utilitarianism promotes what the vast number proposes and if it
will make most happy. If the ill person wishes to die because he is suffering, then the relatives
should honor his wish. If it's their joy to see their kin's suffering alleviated, then they should let
him go (Mapes, 2016). The theory of utilitarianism advocates for sheer happiness even in the
