Global Health Problem

Global Health Problem.
Spread of HIV among Gay and Sex Workers in America.
Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) virus started to spread more than 30
years ago. It has been a great healthcare concern all over the world.
Sex workers and homosexual rates are increasing in America. In 2016, there was a
population of 492 324 gay and bisexual men. This was a 6.7 percent, which roughly had four
hundred and ninety-two million sexually active gay men. These men were in danger of
contracting the disease and spreading it among themselves. (Center for disease control and
prevention, 2018). Sex workers, on the other hand, take part in dangerous sexual behaviors
like doing sex with many partners and not using condoms.
In the past five years, the Clinton management acknowledged the global HIV/AIDS
epidemic a security worries national wide. The UNAIDS, United Nations Programme on
HIV/AIDS, conveyed about thirty-four million citizens infected with HIV/AIDS in 2011. A
population of almost two million people died from HIV in that time (Mor1 and Dan, 2012).
It imposes a burden in regions and countries.
The numbers of infected people are increasing, and the resources are making promises
through the President’s Emergency Program for AIDS Break. The program makes it clear that
they are concerned about the disease break. AIDS does not only kill societies but also caves
out stable societies. It weakens the ability of societies, states, and whole regions. The public
counterfeit and uphold the political, social, and economic institutes necessary for harmony
and security. HIV/AIDS causes homophobia, discrimination, and stigmatization to the patient.
This place bisexual men and gay at danger for numerous mental health problems.
AIDS eliminates the most productive members of society. Men who are able and provide
labor at companies and women who work in lands the land. The population involved in sex
work and bisexual men are rising, leading to their high rates of contracting the disease. The
disease makes them weak, and they are forced to withdraw from their work because of their
vulnerable body. This leads to low productivity at, and the economy of the country lowers. It
also leads to stigmatization in society and devastates the structure of the community at large.
In conclusion, there is a need to breakdown the sequence of spread among gay
and sex workers. USA government needs to come up with more HIV prevention and treatment
programs. It needs to expand access to tests for HIV. In addition, it needs to intensify the
people who know their status and who are using condoms. The multipart set of socioeconomic
and economic factors should be highly addressed since they drive people to risks of HIV. This
factors like stigma, poverty, and discrimination make people involve in unsafe and immoral
acts. If they will not be addressed, it is definite that the virus will still excessively infect gay
and sex workers. Should the government allow the proposed budget for HIV to be cut and
undermine the improvement in stopping and treating the virus in America? Will inadequate
sex education help HIV-related stigma, or will it increase the spread? The response to
HIV/AIDS damage should reduce not grow and thrive.
