Google’s SWOT Analysis
SWOT analysis is the examination of a company's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and
threats (Gupta & Mishra 2016). Larry Page and Sergey Brin came up with Google inc. while
they were at Stanford University pursuing their doctorate (Gupta & Mishra 2016). However, the
company is controlled by many people today though the two inventors receive a share of 14%
from overall earnings achieved. Some people are employed to provide information there whereas
others visit the platform to fetch ideas on different issues. Among them are students who always
visit the platform to acquire answers required in their education and courses. The company's
main aim is to organize the information of the world and offer it appropriately to people.
However, this group can also be analyzed on SWOT (Hollensen 2015).
Some of the strengths of this company are that it possesses well-arranged information which
helps its clients as it is well understood. The company also contains extensive information on all
fields. Whether it is in education, history, medicine, psychology among others can always be
accessed thus making it favorable for all. It is cheap as one only requires getting an internet
access which acquaints one with the privilege of searching whatever information needed. The
platform has fabulous acquisition powers. Google has made it so possible to acquire so many
companies and absorb them, unlike any other enterprise. Research indicates that up to 2015, the
company had acquired more than 100 companies (Gupta & Mishra 2016). One does not
necessarily have to own a computer to access Google since phones and tablets can also get used.

criminals. Google provides a good platform for marketing. Today many people have turned to
selling their property online and also accessing goods there. It is a real reason behind why e-
commerce has grown so fast with time (Gupta & Mishra 2016).
However, Google has also got weaknesses. Most income earned in Google is from
advertisements (Hollensen 2015). However, the company is vulnerable to undergoing fluctuation
since the ads may vary with time. Other rising companies such as Face book are acting like a big
threat to the company on the discussion. Today people can access so much information from
Face book, Twitter, Amazon, and Apple which reduces the Google's visitors. It is also easy for
Google's information to be hacked and copied to other platforms. For instance, Face book in in-
app can offer its visitors with apps and so on. The more people spend time on the Face book wall
the higher the Google losses. Google has got a very high turn- over rate whereby it deploys its
workers in a very high rate. After working for the company for one-year and some few months,
one gets fired, and other employees hired. The turnover leads to little knowledgeable workers
thus ending up on offering reduced or low services before catching up (Gupta & Mishra 2016).
Despite the weaknesses discussed above, the company also has opportunities. Among them are
that the company expands now and then as it acquires more clients with time. Among the reasons
that lead to its expansion includes artificial intelligence, online studies, medicine and so on. The
growth is long term, acquired with time (Syazwan, Talib & Bakar 2014).
Some of the threats that are faced by this company include its key rivals. They are the Amazon,
Face book, and Apple. The walls also provide relevant information as Google thus fetching some
of its customers (Syazwan, Talib & Bakar 2014).
GOOGLE’S SWOT ANALYSIS: 4
To sum up, it's quite clear that just; like any other company, Google has strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities, and threats. Most of the strengths of the enterprise are internal whereas its threats
are external.
