Green Innovation 2
Green Innovation
Over the decade, global warming has evolved as a critical phenomenon that requires
implementation of effective mitigation strategies. Notably, carbon IV Oxide emissions are
drastically rising, consequently resulting in depletion of the ozone layer. Therefore, embracing
green innovation is inevitable. Transforming fossil-fueled economies into clean and low-carbon
societies is equally significant. Unfortunately, many economic models of climate change persist
in overlooking the fundamental roles of green innovation. Taking green innovation into account
means that useful policy conclusions will indisputably be drawn. Bjørn Lomborg is the director of
Copenhagen Consensus Center. Besides, he is the author of the book, The Skeptical
Environmentalist. Born in 1965, Bjørn Lomborg has profoundly argued that majority of the
scientists and policymakers propose costly measures and actions while addressing global warming.
Additionally, he explains that these measures often result in minimal positive impacts on efforts
to mitigate the drastically rising global temperatures.
Bjørn Lomborg's presentation on Economics of Climate Change Innovation captures
contemporary society to comprehend the detrimental realities of global warming. Moreover, the
Copenhagen Consensus Center's director provides comprehensive solutions to the ever-rising
global temperatures. Bjørn Lomborg explains that by 1800, most of the energy was derived from
renewables. Today, one-third of 1% of the energy people use comes from solar and wind. The
author explains that governments should not push renewables with taxes and subsidies. He
illustrates that the primary problem with energy taxes is that they impose inconsiderable policies
on citizens. About a million of the elderly are struggling to keep warm during the winter. For
instance, Bjørn Lomborg highlights that approximately 2700 of the elderly die each year.
