I am very pleased to be talking to you today as Horatio’s lawyer. I believe you are very
happy as I am particularly if you support Horatio and you want to give the control of Denmark
over to him. I am going to take this opportunity to inform you about the good qualities of Horatio
and the reasons why you should give him a chance to become a king of Denmark. As a lawyer I
believe that Horatio often had the voice of reason and skepticism as compared to Fortinbras and
that is why he is the man that Hamlet wants to be with and therefore he can be a great king of
Denmark. As compared to Fortinbras, Horatio has good leadership qualities which is one of the
reasons why I believe he will become a great king. He is a very intelligent person and he is
driven by his intellectual creativity and thus he will make wise decisions as a king based on his
intelligence.
He is a person who accept the world as it is meaning that he accepts reality and thus he
will be able to rule and make judgments based on truth. His intellectual ability can be seen
through his sentiments concerning the ghost and he also loved to talk to people which implies
that he was a good communicator. As a lawyer, I would like to inform you that one of the
qualities of a great leader is being able to communicate efficiently with his people and partners
and Horatio was a very good speaker thus he could become a great king of Denmark. As a

lawyer I would love to inform you that I understand that Hamlet had a trust in Horatio and not
Fortinbras because he believed that Horatio could keep his secrets and this is a good quality
because he will be able to keep the secrets of the empire and the enemies will not be able to
understand their operations. Markedly, this quality will allow them to maintain protection of
their land. On the other hand, I believe that Fortinbras was ignorant of his own political ruin and
thus he can never be the best suit for leading the land because this would translate to corruption
and oppression of the minority group.
I would like to inform you that Horatio comprehended every route that Hamlet was
passing through thus will make an elaborate leader of the Monarchy of Denmark. Eventually,
Fortinbras made public his little empirical knowledge concerning the truth when he overpowers
the desire to show an important belief in the ghost Hamlet’s father. This correspondence can be
compared to his unsound mind therefore he should not be taken or given the chance to become
the King of Denmark. Because of this, I strongly suggest that Horatio is the one who is expected
to put on the crown and become the king of Denmark.
I also believe that Horatio is thoughtful as compared to Fortinbras who is very obsessive.
Besides, I think that he should become the king because he is considered to be more loyal as a
king. He is in a position to declare war in the event that he want to protect the empire of
Denmark. As you all know, it is important that the position be given to someone who is
confident enough and is able to declare war. He is therefore going to be a wise and a confident
king. Since Hamlet choose Horatio to be his close partner and an adviser it simply means that
Hamlet believed in him and that Horatio can also become a great king given the opportunity
because he already knew how Hamlet was operating while at the throne. Since Horatio was able

to discover the inner life of Hamlet it means that he is also in a position of discovering much
about the people in the Kingdom of Denmark.
I also believe that his character and his position shows clearly that he has various
qualities of a good leader. Horatio also feared the Ghost mirrors and the existing perception
toward witchcraft and ghosts among the people in the kingdom which clearly indicates that he
can become a leader and discourage all operations that involves witchcraft which might hinder
the development of the empire because I know you as people of Denmark do not support dark
power. Horatio also worried about the looming attack on their land by Fortinbras and
Norwegians which implies that he was worried about their land and he would do anything to
protect the people from attacks from enemies but Fortinbras was ready to assist their enemies to
fight their own land which shows that Fortinbras was a betrayer.
As a lawyer I understand that Fortinbras reputation to coerce Horatio to battle the
founded Danes due to the avenging of his father in spite of the fact that Fortinbras did not have
enough resources to fund his army. Horatio is also believed to be the harbinger of truth because
through him all the activities conducted by Hamlet and other leaders gain validity which implies
that most of the activities that he will conduct as a king will also gain credibility. I also
considered Horatio to be the outside viewer to the madness. Since Hamlet was in a position of
soliloquizing to no end, Horatio could talk to him that leadership is about reality and not fiction.
Horatio holds that it is important for leaders to believe in themselves when he told Hamlet that
they have permission to believe. Therefore, I would like to inform you that these qualities among
others indicate that Horatio will be a great king and should be given the control of Denmark.
