Higher education degree include academic Masters and Ph.D. While a college degree

is also significant, advanced qualifications may also have an impact on an individual, society,

and job market. Years ago, a college degree was highly valued, but with the high rate of

postgraduate learners, a college degree is a common and easily achievable level.

Nevertheless, some renowned individuals have become popular and millionaires including

Mark Zuckerberg without a higher education degree. A higher education degree is therefore

important in life.

Higher education degree is directly proportional to higher income in employment

field. While not everyone can be self-employed, companies’ value education level and skills

and having a higher education degree is an additional advantage in the labor market which

calls for higher ranks and payment. In most cases, individuals enroll for postgraduate studies

part-time as they work and after graduating, they finally climb the economic ladder, which

offers higher salaries and better living standards compared to their lives before achieving the

higher education degree ("Top 4 Benefits of Higher Education"). Having a postgraduate

degree is therefore important in life because it translates to higher income and living

standard.

However, a higher education degree is not important in life, and the society has

overrated the academic achievement over the years. Every parent wants their children to

complete their undergraduate and proceed with postgraduate studies because they feel that

everyone is doing it and it might help them secure jobs faster. No solid proofs are supporting

this idea, and in most cases, individuals have excelled in different fields with college degrees.

Unemployment and corruption in present-day's society have rendered education and degrees

useless, and for this reason, there is no distinctive difference in the society between a college

degree and higher education degree because jobs are mostly offered based on social status

and connections in the desired fields. Higher education is therefore not important in life.

While higher education degree may not directly offer best jobs due to high

unemployment and corruption rates in the globe, it creates a personal advantage by helping

one realize their passions because of the advancement in the system. Also, one gains

additional and special skills in relation to the career path and particular courses that can be

applied in their careers to advanced levels that can easily translate to self-employment ("Top

4 Benefits of Higher Education"). Critical thinking skills and the sense of achievement of

personal goals is also a positive vibe in life that higher education degree achievers have. It

helps improve both the written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills that are

applicable in general life. A higher education degree is therefore important in life.

In conclusion, a higher education degree is important in life as it directly translates to

higher income and better living standards. Also, it creates a sense of achievement in life if

that was a personal goal regardless of the labor market condition. It offers higher critical

thinking and interpersonal skills but also give exceptional skills in the direction of one’s

specialty. However, higher education may not directly translate to better jobs and income due

to the increase in unemployment and corruption rates in the globe but also; some individuals

have achieved high with a basic college degree.
