How Children Should Spend Their Time
Children are an integral part of life that should be closely taken care of. The activities that
children spend their time on mold whom they grow up to become. Children should be taught to
partake in worthy courses in life that translate into benefit for their future. All activities and
things a child undertakes should be guided by a primary focus on bettering their lives and that of
the society at large. This essay discusses the various ways in which a child’s time can be fully
maximized to allow full realization of their potential.
Children should spend a considerable amount of their time learning. Acquisition of new
knowledge in different aspects of life sharpens a child’s wit and capacity to handle different
matters regarding life effectively. Learning entails more than just academic studies. Children
should be taught all that matters in life to make them all round members of the society. They
should learn morals at an early age as it is basic and necessary for the acquisition of more
complex concepts. Children who spend most of their time learning have been proven to make
responsible adults who are hard working in every aspect of life. Learning teaches one to discern
between right and wrong, and properly manage their lives (“How do you think children should
spend their free time?”, n.d.). Parents should teach their children to apportion a better part of
their time in acquisition of new knowledge and skills aside from academic studies.
Children should also allocate a significant part of their time in doing recreational
activities that positively impact their behavioral and psychological development. It improves
their social skills and physical capabilities. Physical activity helps a child manage stress and
other mental and emotional disorders. Children who partake less in co-curricular activities face
extreme difficulty socializing with their peers. They develop self-esteem issues and often do not
