HUMANITIES 2
Do you want to download your consciousness into a computer for eternity? SHOULD you
want to?
The human consciousness is termed to be the awareness or the personal ability to feel and
experience (Bunney, & Hoit, 2013). However, I would like to download my consciousness into
the computer so that my generation can be able to track who I was (Kaku, 2014). In that case,
there will be no need for DNA, and hence the future will be able to know their ancestors
(Bunney, & Hoit, 2013). On the other hand, if our emotions together with experience can be
plastered on social media, then our personal experience will be taken away (Kaku, 2014).
The future drugs which make prisoners take 8 hours to 1000 years are too much. Justice
has to be exercised to those in prison despite the fact that the law for that. As a matter of fact,
those in prison who did not commit the crime will be significantly disadvantaged (Bunney, &
Hoit, 2013). For this reason, I would recommend that this drug is not released.
For the case of those individuals who live with trauma like bad moments and rape, it the
drug of forgetting will be a useful tool (Bunney, & Hoit, 2013). However, considering the fact
our human beings do learn from the past events, I would allow this drug to be marketed (Kaku,
2014). Furthermore, the ability for telepathy is impressive where somebody can just see she or he
likes and what is not needed is switched off (Bunney, & Hoit, 2013). Accordingly, I suggest that
it will not be safe especially if it is in the inappropriate hands where it can cause harm.
