Increasing Demand for Chinese Adult Art Classes
Research by the Saint Louis University under the department of languages, literature, and
cultures present approximately 25% of the population globally speak the Chinese language. The
study showcases the increasing gross demand for adult art classes (Carlisle, 2012, p. 22). The
development of the demand is attributed to some given drivers which include the Chinese market
are growing in the world globally which creates a need for the development of language skills to
facilitate communications. Additionally, the Wheaton University also conducted a research and
presented that the interests on the appreciation of Chinese culture have also acted as the major
drive for increasing number of Chinese attending the art classes (Liu, 2014, p. 19).
According to China Education and Research Network, it presents that traditionally, the
education systems of China have a growing interest in emphasizing the value of art education. As
a result, it has played a significant role in nurturing interests of the adults in the field
(Washington, 2013, p. 14). Ministry of Education has thus encouraged initiation and
development of art education institutions. The education system provides a close link to art
studies in all stages of learning starting from lower stages to upper stages. The levels include
primary, secondary, and universities.
There is a distinct dichotomy in art education in China whereby there is a varied field
which people can venture. For example, such venturing fields include painting, drawing, singing,
acting and others (Han, 2016, p. 23). The availability of varieties presents an opportunity for the
adults to specialize in the particular field of interest. The national curriculum of education fosters
patriotism, socialism, and culture, and thus it is for the reason that the sector continues to
develop. It is identifiable that the interest in the art fields by adults will continue to increase

will continue to increase among the Chinese adults.
