Introduction

An interesting article by the BBC highlighted the unwavering support for President

Trump among his supporters amidst speculations and media reports that they might be

abandoning him. According to the BBC news (2018), approximately 35-38 percent of Americans

approve Trump’s administration. Besides, approximately eighty percent of Republicans

demonstrate their trust in President Trump (BBC, 2018). The article prompted my urge to

interview the President’s supporters and get their viewpoints on his administration. This paper

outlines the responses from the President’s supporters concerning his administration.

Resolute support for the president among his voters

Recent political speculations in America depict unpopularity of President Trump.

However, regarding the interview I conducted with his voters, most of them support him for

endorsing the culture confrontation that has been characteristic of Republican administrations

since the 1980s. Based on the interview, the president has earned the trust of his voters because

of his standpoint on illegal immigrants in America. Similar to the president, his voters consider

immigrants as a threat to employment opportunity for the Native Americans. Most voters of the

President support his opposition of the political establishment in the country. Trump has been on

numerous occasions a critic of the media and political establishment controlling diverse sectors

of America’s economy and political parties.

Support for America’s culture of confrontation or war

Since assumption of office, the president has approved confrontation with US enemies

and threats of war. Based on the interview, the president’s supporters approve his confrontational

approach to dealing with America’s enemies. During the campaign period of President Trump,

he pledged to his supporters that he would regain the American dignity and confront the

countries security threats. His voters praise him for maintaining his promise to defend his

country mainly from the forces of such threats as North Korea, Russia, and China.

Conservative Perceptions

Regarding the negative opinion that several American conservatives in the US against the

media perpetuates the support for President Donald Trump. The conservative Americans

believed that the overwhelming liberal and American coastal press might not provide reasonable

concern on their grievances. Additionally, they perceived that the American media or press

hinders their effort of emerging victorious in the national elections. The president commands

excellent support from the Republicans because of his strength, leadership, values, and

confidence. Some supporters of the president argue that he can deliver his promises. His voters

criticize the American media for constant criticism and failure not provide a favorable

environment for accomplishments of the promises the president made during his campaign. They

argue that Republicans, Russian investigation, and the American press should permit the

president to deliver his campaign pledges to Americans.

Even though President Trump supports culture war, which affects the African-American

in the country, some immigrants show their support to the current American president (BBC,

2018). They claim the US requires a leader who may instill discipline among the youths to

reduce the high rates of crime.

Conclusion

It is interesting to inquire the position of Trump’s importers and their viewpoints on his

administration. This paper outlines opinions and justifications by Trump’s voters of their support

for his administration’s policies. Approximately a third of American voters support President

Trump because he promotes the culture confrontation, which has existed in the nation for more

than three decades. The interview reveals the president commands excellent support from his

voters because of his strength, leadership values and trust.
