Section II: Introduction to the Proposed Program
The proposed youth program will be called Enlighting the Youth for a Socially Stable
Society. This program will be interested in training the youth and giving them the required
knowledge they need on societal expectations. The program will entail giving financial
assistance to the youths from the donations which are made by the general public. Positive youth
empowerment is a factor that helps shape the youth and society in general. By teaching the youth
to be depended on themselves and guiding them accordingly, they will grow to have a self-
viable, clear and positive personality. Most organizations take up the youth empowerment
seriously since these are the forums which help build a working and dedication team NREPP,

BASED ON THE PEDAGOGY OF FREIRE AND EXPERIENCES IN THE FIELD BY
NICOLE MOHAJER

programs which have been developed to ensure that they are taught about decision making at a
very young age. The role of the development does not always show the different relations which
the empowerment impacts on the lives of the youth. The relationship between the facilitator and

EXPLORING THE CONCEPTUALIZATION AND RESEARCH OF
EMPOWERMENT IN THE FIELD OF YOUTH BY XAVIER UCAR MARTINEZ.
Empowerment is complex had has various meanings and can be used by different people
to mean very different things. The youth empowerment which is given to one set of youth’s

maybe common knowledge to the rest. As such empowerment does not necessarily mean that
what is been taught to the youth is new information and knowledge. Most of the times it is
common knowledge which is been taught appropriately to them to ensure that they better their
livelihoods and reduce crime rate in the region.
Positive youth development ensures that the youth are taught things which will help them
have a positive impact on their lives. the majority of the empowerment programs which have
been in place in the past ensure that the youth will learn a new skill set which will help them in
get self-employed and stop relying on the older generation.
Section III: Definition of Need that Proposed Program Intends to Meet
To develop the youth program data had to be collected which would determine how the
organization would actualize the program. As such there were different approaches in the way
the data would be used and a SWOT analysis was done to determine how the organization would
be useful. For the strengths, the organization had already established itself, and it had a strong
reputation in the society, and as such it received a lot of donations which would be used to
finance their day to day activities. The reputation would be a motivating factor to the youth, and
it would be used to convince the youth to join the program. In terms of weaknesses, the
organization had not been set up in a way that it would be beneficial to the youth and some
changes had to be done. There was Opportunity in that the Organization could attract different
sponsors to the company. The availability of sponsors means that there would be a sufficient
source of funding for the organization. There are no threats which would lead to the failure of the
organization. The planning of the youth program was effective enough, and this meant that there
were no threats.

Program Goals
Having goals when undertaking any program brings about more interest from the
participants since there is something to achieve. The goals for the program were incepted during
its formation, and one of the primary goals of the program would be empowering the youth. The
youth would be empowered by the creation of jobs and making the majority of them self-
employed. Another program goal would be to get rid of the idleness in the youth which results in
them abusing and misusing drugs. By doing this, they would achieve a reduced number of youths
who go to prison due to petty cases and lead to productivity in the country.
Program Activities
There would be various activities which would be taken by the program included training
programs for the youth who were still in the academy. The training would be done majorly
through mentoring sessions which would be carried out by qualified personnel. Another activity
which would be carried out by the program includes peer exchange programs which will help the
youth come up with any ideas for self-employment.
Program Outputs
The main output that this program will have is the giving of charitable support to the
youth. The effort of the program is to ensure that there is an impact on the youth and it will help
them in their future decision making. There will be a follow up of all the self-employment
projects to ensure that they do not fail.
Specific Program Components
The youth from poor backgrounds are the targeted audience and are the ones who will be
sought to enroll in the program. This is because the youth are energetic and a majority of them
are not doing any work. The financing strategy which has been adopted by the organization will

organization ensure that it will run appropriately as required.
