Question 1: Strategies for overcoming conflicts of interest related to the plan for change.
Establishment of a Conflict of Interest Policy
Before launching private wards, the hospital board of directors should embrace a conflict
of interest policy that dictates how to respond when faced with clashing interests between the
employees and job demands (Oak, 2002). The adopted strategy should entail elements such as
objective of the policy, the definition of conflict of interest, scope of the policy, and disclosure
procedure among others.
Disclosure
When a staff member is confronted with a circumstance which may possibly violate
hospital policies, the concerned individual(s) should submit a comprehensive concession, in
writing, of details and request for an exemption (Oak, 2002). The affirmation should be
submitted to the institution in which the affected individual holds unique privileges.
Reporting
In case of a suspected violation of hospital’s by-laws, health professionals should report
the issue to the chief staff immediately. Subsequently, the administrator(s) should analyze the
evidence presented and adopt the appropriate disciplinary action to staff involved in breaching of
the by-laws.
Question 2: Strategies that will enable groups and stakeholders to work together more
effectively.
Arguably, the efforts of a group deliver ostentatious results than individual struggles
(Ghaye, 2008). However, teamwork can also encounter complications such as disparities in

policies, squabbling, and elusive goals that may lead to contention. To embolden teamwork and
shun such concerns, the following measures can be adopted.
Establish a Common Vision
The stakeholders should have a common vision and work in unison towards the
realization of the set targets. Such a strategy will help the employees to understand their roles in
the achievement of the vision.
Empower Employees
Research in management sphere asserts that a team performs best when the members are
motivated to make fundamental decisions that impel the company (Ghaye, 2008). Therefore, it is
essential for the administrators to be overt and inspire team members to be self-starters who
execute tasks on their accord without typical approvals.
