The superiority battle between the phone manufacturing industries is no longer a
flagship concept in the market today. It all started with the operating systems that the
different companies adopted. Previously, the battle was between Android devices and iOS
devices. Today, the manufacturers (Apple Inc., Samsung, BlackBerry, and Huawei, etc.) put
more concentration on the designs, features, specs, and the prices of their products. The four
elements are the main things that define the buyer choices in the market. Samsung and Apple
Inc. are arguably two of the most adored phone manufacturers in the world today. They have
been making different releases with improved features, designs, specs every year in attempts
to capture more significant market shares. The designs, features, specs, and the prices of
Samsung S8 and iPhone 8 are the things making either of them better than the other.
Samsung Galaxy S8 has a slightly better design than the iPhone 8. It has a much
bigger screen of 5.8in compared to iPhone 8’s 4.7in. The body is Samsung S8 is built a little
bulkier than iPhone 8 (7g more massive, 10mm longer, 1mm wider). The S8 screen has a
built-in home button contrary to the iPhone 8. Additionally, the pixel density of the S8 is
massively higher than that of the iPhone 8 (Le et al., 2018). All these confirm that Samsung
S8 is superior in design compared to iPhone 8.
Apart from the more modern-looking design of the S8, it is slightly more water
resistant. The S8 battery is much bigger, with a slightly higher life than iPhone 8. Both
phones have fast charge capabilities. The rear-facing cameras of both phones are highly rated
with 12-megapixel each, but because the camera for S8 comes with added advantageous
manual controls, it is slightly highly rated than the iPhone 8 camera (Le et al., 2018). The
added manuals controls enable the camera of S8 to take better shots through tweak focus,
white balance, as well as shutter speeds. Some other features that sway people into liking S8

more than the iPhone 8 is its inclusion of the SD storage slot and the headphone port. The
two bizarrely missed out in iPhone 8.
Contrarily, some stronger features up the sleeve of iPhone 8 outperform those of S8.
The iPhone comes with live photos and 3D Touch. Additionally, iOS is widely believed to be
superior to Android OS. In support of this assertion, the market believes that apart from being
a secure Operating System, the iOS is regarded as more friendly OS (de Oliveira & dos
Santos, 2017). A general analysis of the new generation Apple’s phones reveals that the like
of iPhone 8 and 8plus lack the specs, modern design and the features to match the Android
OS phones that are priced against them (Baganzi et al., 2017). The iOS phones are always
more expensive compared to the Android and BlackBerry phones. This is based on a priory
stated superiority assumption.
In conclusion, Samsung S8 has superior design compared to iPhone 8. Its screen is
much bigger and comes with better pixel density than the screen of iPhone 8. Even though
the rear-cameras of both phones are highly rated with resolutions of 12-megapixels, the one
for S8 is slightly highly rated than the counterpart. The battery of S8, though inbuilt, is much
bigger and has a much faster fast charge. The design of the iPhone 8 is dated and lacks
aesthetic difference with iPhone 6S. It is therefore right to conclude that Samsung Galaxy S8
is better than iPhone 8.
