Introduction
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems refer to software packages which are used
by organizations in ensuring that there is real-time control and visibility in operations. SAP is
enterprise software designed to manage customer relations and business operations. Being the
largest programming and software company with its operations extending throughout the world,
SAP has been in a position to extend its solution to different industries namely: financial
institutions, service industries, discrete industries, consumer industries, process industries, and
public industries. The systems under Sap are designed to adopt all size of businesses from small
organizations to large organizations. This paper seeks to explore the success of SAP inventory in
ERP system implementation.
SAP is known to have enhanced business operation. This is through improving
productivity, as well as enhancing the quality of the expected output. This is achieved through
standardization, integration, and simplification of different business transactions. SAP inventory
is a software/program designed to help in inventory management (Nah and Lau, 2001). It
manages the supply chain management together with its components. ERP system
implementation software solutions have helped companies in improving operations as well
providing a firm basis for faster customer response. With the increase in competition and
demand, there is need of generating products and services with the optimal use of resources; this
ensures that there is improved customer satisfaction and profitability. Organizations are advised
to adopt SAP solutions which are specifically designed for their use, as customization of
software consumes times and resources, and there are cases of inefficiencies. One of the reasons
behind failure in ERP is the adaptation of wrong software, which does not meet basic
organization/industry specifications. Purchase of a correct ERP is solving the problem halfway;
