Keeping Up with the Kardashians is a reality television show in America, aired on E!
Cable Television Network. The series’ focus is on the professional and personal lives of the
Jenner-Kardashian family. Ryan Seacrest was the source of its premise, and he is currently the
executive producer of the show. The debut of the series was on 14

October, 2007, with a
substantive growth in its viewership over the years. As much as I am not a devoted viewer of the
series, I tune in at times to watch random episodes from time to time. I am aware of a lot of
people, close to me, who watch the series and never miss an episode. Nevertheless, I believe that
in as much as reality televisions are expected to document real-life occurrences that are
unscripted or unedited, various scenarios in this show are edited or scripted in order to increase
viewer engagement.
Case in point, Kim Kardashians marriage to the renowned basketball player Kris
Humphries could be termed as a stunt and effort in the show among the Kardashians trying to
attract fame. The marriage only lasted for three months and Kim wanted it to end, without any
exhibition of efforts to make it work between her and the man she claimed to love. The wedding
attracted more than 10.5 million viewers, which could be said to be highly profitable for the
Kardashians and E! Television. The Kardashians are using the show to exhibit financial might
and to desperately attract fame, engaging in acts they would not have done in the absence of the
camera. However, the show is entertaining to some parties, but has seen a reduction in viewer
ratings over the past two seasons, with most people claiming that it has become duller and hides
most of the things that are taking place in the Kardashian background.

aspects of western culture and fashion being brought forth. One would argue that with the
