ensure that the dignity of women is uphold in Brazil and worldwide.
Even though her performance as a president is not very bad compared to the other
regimes; she has been put to major criticisms due to the selfish power struggles of powerful
cartels who would like to install a president whom they can control and not who is firm and
fundamentally inclined when making the nation’s decisions.
Moreover, the impeachment motion seems to be politically motivated by certain
individuals in the state, the president has been quoted saying that she is been subjected to a
process that is both legally and politically fraudulent. Thus it is seen that her opponents in the
congress are using the law to depose an “unpopular president”. Previous regimes had major
political and economic scandals such as corruption which she sequentially met, though they did
not necessarily face the same fate.
It is unfortunate that the Latin American country is facing this imminent problem at the
time when they should be focusing their energy in adequate preparation for the Rio de Janeiro
Olympics which is due in August. The fact that Brazil would play host to the international event
should be perceived positively by the multicultural locals who would be able to gain much in
terms of monetary, economic and social exchange which would entirely benefit them.
Meanwhile, the focus should shift from the political impediments facing Brazil to the
much awaited Olympics event. Thus the government should hold the situation facing the
president with decorum so that it would not paint a bad image to the world whereby people from
different parts of the world are anticipating the Rio de Janeiro Olympics game to be held soon.
