Dear Sir/ Madam
RE: My Grades at California State University and how I Plan to be Academically Successful
My academic performance at the California State University was profoundly affected by my
health. After joining the university, I would often miss classes since I was receiving physical
therapy at the same time. My grades deteriorated as I was also unable to give my education
full attention. After being in and out of therapy, my counselor advised that I seek further
comprehensive treatment in China during my Summer holiday. It is after receiving treatment
and stabilizing health-wise that I was recommended to proceed with my education at a
different institution. I hence received treatment and opted to restart my Freshman career at
the East Los Angeles College.
I have made various strategic plans to improve my grades and attain good academic
performance at East Los Angeles College. I have developed a proactive attitude, whereby I
will be consulting my professors for extra assignments to gain extra credit. I intend to put in
more effort in the subjects that I underperformed by doing extensive personal research in
those areas, and also consult my peers. Since I am currently in a good mental and health state,
I am positive that I will be more attentive in class. I will also make good use of my personal
study time to ensure I revise thoroughly before undertaking any exams. I also intend to
improve my essay-writing skills since it is essential when handling assignments, and it will
have a positive impact on my grades. By abiding by all the strategies I have put in place, I
believe I will improve my academic performance and excel as a student at East Los Angeles
College.
