Life Design Conversation
This conversation takes place between Me (Interviewer) and the Psychologist Profession
(Interviewee) working at Printer’s Limited Company, who is a school counselor. The primary
purpose of this conversation is to know more about the profession as an exciting career in which
it can provide a path for me to venture.
Opening remarks;
Me: Thank you for taking your time in this conversation, and I would like to seek counseling and
guidance as well as professional experience in the Psychology as a profession. I hope we will co-
operate throughout the discussion?
Joslyn: Thank you for inviting me to this conversation. I am called Mr. Joslyn Jos working as a
Psychologist at Printer's Limited Company. I assure you to answer every question you pose to
me regarding the career.

Me: What is your primary title or job in your company?
Joslyn: I work as a Psychologist professional at Printer's Limited Company for fifteen years now.
I majorly focus on providing experimentation, counseling, promoting safety and good measures,
and understanding mental health as well as studying the human minds. (Tapley 17).
Question 2
Me: Why did you choose a career in Psychology despite so many professional careers?
Joslyn: I chose to be a Psychologist because since I was growing up in my village and school, I
used to have ambition and vision to work as a Psychologist in a busy organization like Printer’s
Ltd (Tapley 21). The most important thing that made me like Psychology is because of my
ambition in the field.

Me: What are the skills and characteristics for one to be a Psychologist?
Joslyn: For one to be in the Psychology field, he/she must be approachable, warm, investing and
encouraging in your success, and should have proper credentials and training to counsel various
clients (Tapley 24).

Me: What might be a good day or a bad day looks like in a Psychology profession?

Joslyn: In a Psychology career, a good day entails a situation where all the clients wishing to
have guidance and counseling are well-served and satisfied, whereas a bad day is when the
clients are unsatisfied with the provision of counseling by the Psychologist (Tapley 30).

Me: What is your advice for young people aspiring to be Psychologists in future?
Joslyn: People who intend to be Psychologists should develop a high degree of level-headedness
and precision as well as having positive attitude and ambition in Psychology career (Tapley 41).
They should also need to be knowledgeable about the psychological issues and ability to read the
human mind.

Me: What is a typical day for a Psychologist’s look like?
Joslyn: Normally, there is no typical day for a Psychologist because he/she needs to work in a
wide range of areas such as psychology prisons and departments, hospitals, and doctor’s
surgeries as well as working with a lot of people like adults, people with disabilities, and children
(Tapley 11).

Me: What keeps you working as a Psychologist at Printer’s Ltd?
Joslyn: What keeps me working at the company as a Psychologist is the fact that I enjoy being
Psychology personnel as well as my professional services are still needed by the company
because the firm is growing by the set objectives (Tapley 33).

Me: What inspired you in Psychology professional field?
Joslyn: My inspiration in the Psychological field is that I like interacting with various people
from different backgrounds and communities by providing excellent guidance and counseling
when they feel depressed or disturbed in their minds (Tapley 39).

Me: What are the qualifications for one to be a Psychologist?
Joslyn: For one to be a Psychologist, he/she must have a background education course in
Psychology as well as human heart nature in helping other people to come out of depression
(Tapley 40).

Me: What are the tips to be successful in life?
Joslyn: To be successful in life, one must get rid of distractions, focus on commitment, use
personal imagination, seek knowledge from others, and must not rely too much on other people
(Tapley 19).

In summary, based on this conversation, I am impressed and motivated by the guidance
and counseling by Mr. Joslyn Jos, a professional psychologist, and I would like to be part of the
career in future because it sounds good, practical, and awesome to be a Psychology professional.
In the past, I have been faced with a difficult situation of being depressed, and I had to look for
Psychological personnel to help me out of the situation. In this way, I got excellent and good
advice from the Psychologist, and I finally overcame the problem.
