Macbeth
It was completely dark and silent. The time was now or never. Macbeth stared deep into
the darkness and as he looked into it, it seemed like the dagger hung in there. He panicked,
closed his eyes and then opened them again and it was still there. He tried to squint but it did not
disappear. Was it really a dagger? He tried to clutch the dagger and his hand went through it. The
dagger was still there and yet he could not feel it. He wondered,” was it only a dagger of the
mind or was it a false creation of damaged brain?” He could still see the dagger as he drew it
himself. It kept pointing towards Duncan’s room. He knew that he was only seeing things yet it
was so real and now on the dagger there was blood on it that was not there before. This to him
was very ridiculous since there was no such thing; he thought to himself that this was the
violence in his mind that was coming out in the form of a bloody dagger. His mind became full
of fear and terror as he stood there overwhelmed by them until the bell rang and that is what
brought him back to the business in hand. If I go it is done, the bell invited him and he began
walking. An inner voice said to him, “Do not listen to it Duncan for it is a knell that calls you to
hell or heaven ( (Godinez, 1800).
