Recommendations for Ending Hunger by 2030 in China
Top Three Prioritized Policy Recommendations for Reducing Hunger
Paving roads from farms to the market (World Food Program, n.d.). Second, reducing
food wastage and lastly, promoting a sustainable variety of crops.
Explain In Detail Why These Are Your Policy Recommendations
Paving all roads from farms to the market means that all farm products will reach the
market at the right time (World Food Program, n.d.). Agricultural resources like fertilizers,
ploughs and land clearing tools will be in farms at the right time. Good roads will ensure that
farmers will easily access farms and make early preparations.
Research reveals that more than a quarter of all healthy foods from farms is wasted every
year. Food waste has a way of affecting the environment and causing climatic change. Reducing
food waste will also ensure resources used in food production are not depleted soon. Food waste
averagely cost about 940 billion dollars every year (KLBD, n.d.). Venturing in food loss and
waste reduction will ensure that China citizens will guaranteed food security. All foods that are
produced in the country should reach the stomachs of natives (KLBD, n.d.). Food waste
reduction is capable of improving environmental, economic and social issues of the country.
Encouraging a sustainable variety of crops will effectively address the issues of climatic
variations. Variety of plants will ensure that citizens will feed on a wide range of foods. Research
has proved that eating various foods reduces some diseases that are nutritionally related. A
diverse range of crops will effectively make use of all soil types in the country.
