Matrix Movie Review 
The matrix series movie of 1999-2003 was created by the Wachowski brothers with sociological 
ideologies and theories incorporated into the collection. It develops a theme that questions what 
is perceived to be the truth and the nature of reality in an ubiquitously mediated surrounding. The 
plot is based on a science fiction which is well established and stipulates that the future of man is 
shadowed by artificially intelligent machines. The evidence shows that the movie series draws 
from other sources such as Plato’s Allegory of the cave whereby the prisoners were to accept the 
nature of their reality which in that case was the shadows. 
Watching the matrix movie series can invite boredom because of the repeated action stunts but 
wait until you watch it from a sociological perspective. The concepts of complex mythology 
developed along the movie’s plot make it worth your time and the viewer appreciates the series 
uniquely. Understanding the Wachowski brothers and the many philosophies and traditions 
involved is key in comprehending and gaining proper insight on the movie series. Viewers with 
adequate knowledge on topics such as the Eastern spiritualism and the Rene Descartes have an 
added advantage. Mind-blowing action stunts and the added special effects are not the things that 
make the movie enjoyable but understanding the social differences, and the inequalities make the 
cinematic adventure heavenly.
