Media is the Message
Marshall discusses the importance of medium of communication to enhance effective
communication amongst different people. He uses the machines to explain on the implication of
technology to human interactions. He uses technology to elaborate how it influences human
behavior, for instance, digitization of information leads to job loss but rather its acts as a unifying
factor from the technological barriers that was created by the mechanical model of content
sharing (McLuhan 23). On the other hand, McLuhan identifies the media as the reason that will
deliver humans from divide and rule method of human relationship. He uses electricity to signify
the relationship between the press and content, and in this regard power has been viewed as the
enhance information that bore the content rather than as means of communication. Electricity has
been seen as a tool to accelerate the process of media presentation and thus amplifying the social
human scale of interaction. From this perspective, Marshal does not necessarily sideline the
probability of electricity as the content rather than medium for it is used to display content that
communicates to human beings (Teaching McLuhan). In this context, power is being viewed as
material since it is used to advertise the intended content henceforth rising to an argument on
whether the act of advertisement should be explained as the outcome of media used to
communicate about the marque

In another part, Marshal wants to explain on the human extension by relating and
studying the William Shakespeare in relationship to the Television or Radio as the medium or
the content that facilitate humans’ interaction. He elaborates that the power of human liberation
from colony lies within the development of technology using the plays that portray
communication as the medium to pass content from individuals to individuals. This has been
captured in the plays stanzas that explain the need for humans to raise their awareness on media
action.
The development and growth of artistry and acknowledgment of electricity as a means of
developing information into content has shifted the mindset of the human, and they started
viewing the medium as the message for example by configuring that the art picture gallery could
be transformed into a film (McLuhan 28).Marshal identifies on the development between the
America and England; he distinguishes the difference between the American and English
leadership development and how learning the aspect of print and grammar. In America
development of human awareness was influenced by the mastery of the art of the media and thus
people were empowered to participate in various activities, but in England, the restriction was
still and thus social exclusion was still in existence thus governance based on oppression and
divide that was guided by the common law. Technological advancement in America influenced
the development of grammar, and thus studies' could be done, and researchers such as Alexis de
Tocqueville could communicate effectively between France and America. The media
development has developed to delivering a new form of speaking that can be adopted by the
whole world thus making interconnectedness among different people.
On the other hand, mechanical development has been attributed to seclusion and
tribalism as a new mode of communication is adopted. Change from oral authority has given rise

to cases of tribal affiliation and isolation as they don’t interrelate together (Straubhaar, Joseph,
Robert LaRose, and Lucinda Davenport 21). For instance acceleration of technology have led to
the loss of confidence amongst the local communities especially in England as well as Africa
where development and freedom of media have not been recognized fully.it is with this that
