Middle Age Health
Middle Age is one of the challenging periods in the life of a person. One of the
characteristics of this period is that someone has enough freedom to engage in whatever they
admire. Also, among various people, it is that opportunity when someone has enough resources
because at this age most people have a reliable source of income. Thirdly, at the middle age,
most people do not face physical body challenges such as those present among the elderly. With
the aspects named above, most people perceive middle age as the appropriate time for someone
to enjoy life. Considerably, this is the same mentality that Tina and Gary’s child have about
middle age.
One of the factors that people forget is that human life is continuous. What this means is
that the experiences of a particular age affect the subsequent one. It is important to note that Tina
and Gary's children feel that there is some separation between middle adulthood and old age.
Most of the lifestyle diseases that people suffer in their old age are a result of risky behavior that
people engage in during their middle age (Ezzati & Riboli, 2013). When people indulge in risky
behavior such as smoking and alcohol consumption, this weakens their organs. As such, when
such people attain old age, they will experience a multitude of health challenges. Therefore, it
implies that people who live irresponsibly during their middle age are likely to have a reduced
lifespan eventually.
When people want to live healthily even in their old age, it is important that they plan
their life in periods such as middle age. Nutrition and exercises are one of the approaches that
people use to ensure they have better health in future. Elwood et al. (2013) argue that almost half
of the killer diseases that bedevil the elderly are as a result of the things that people consume
