NURSING 2
Question one
There was inadequate supervision to suicidal patents where one manages to jump out of
the window and thereupon injures herself (Burkhardt, M. & Nathaniel, 2015.)
Question two
There is an ethical dilemma whereby, as Linda was trying to answer a question from one
of the members, one suicidal patient manages to jump out of the window and in the process
injures herself (Burkhardt, M. & Nathaniel, 2015.). Consequently, Linda was in a dilemma
because she was supposed to participate in the staff meeting and at the same time monitor the
suicidal patients.
Question three
The first legal standard that is in danger to be violated is Justice. However, this involves
treating in a fair way. It’s likely to be broken because of nature of the patients (Burkhardt, M. &
Nathaniel, 2015.). Therefore, at times nurses can feed up to them and mishandle them. The
second legal standard to be violated easily is Veracity which is all about truth (Barry, & Farmer,
2014). This is because sometimes the family members usually may request that the patient not
fully informed about particular situations which they think might cause more harm than good.
Question four
Yes. Linda could lose her license because she did not provide enough supervision to the
suicidal patients of which one of the patients managed to jump through the window and in the
process she caught injuries (Burkhardt, M. & Nathaniel, 2015.). Accordingly, this was against
the nursing-related legal issues which could lead to denial of licensure (Barry, & Farmer, 2014).
