Personal Statement
Due to the financially strong and rapidly growing pharmaceutical industry, I have some
specific goals that I aim at achieving after completion of the postgraduate degree in
Pharmaceutical Science. What motivates me to take this course is the suitability to work in
biotech, medico-tech and pharmaceutical industries while still studying and after successfully
completing the course. I also like the fact that this course exposes me to different lines of
specialization such as medicine and society, drug development and drug discovery. Along
with help to achieve these professional, academic and personal goals, pharmaceutical science
is a very broad discipline with multiple career options. I have a robust and compelling force
that achievement of these goals will be more effectively facilitated by skills and knowledge
acquired through a Master's in Pharmaceutical Science. I believe with an increased exposure
and understanding of medicine - as it is the central focus of the programme, I will be exposed
to many other chemistry-related jobs. Here are my professional aims that I believe a
Postgraduate degree will make necessary to achieve; provision of knowledge, experience and
other invaluable tools.
The undergraduate Pharmaceutical Science course modules provided me with a range of
endless, comprehensible and thought-provoking learning opportunities through research and
scholarly activities. These modules were based on Drugs, Biochemistry, Microbiology,
Pharmacology, Bioscience, and principles of various pharmaceutical science fields. A series
of modules from my immediate undergraduate degree provided me with valuable skills. For
instance, going through The Physicochemical nature of Drugs left me with the necessary drug
discovery skills which I believe will be useful in studying MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Other specific modules covered in the undergraduate degree touched on chemical, biological
and biomedical science areas. I gained enough theoretical and practical experience in
biochemistry, pharmacology, design, methods of analysis and delivery of the pharmaceutical
